Aldridge dropped historical numbers against us. Spurs are better than us until proven otherwise. I don't think the wheeling and dealing is over for us just yet so I will remain cautiously optimistic.

I wouldn't say he's overrated as an individual player. But it's worth noting that he only got past the first round once his entire time with the Blazers.

Who will play center for SA? They gave up Splitter. I guess they still have Baynes, but they have a big hole there.

They don't still have Baynes, he's a Piston now.

They have Duncan at center and LMA at PF, which is pretty good, but West and Diaw as the backup 4 and 5 is gross. Absolutely no rim protection whatsoever if Duncan and LMA aren't on the court.

Imagine Duncan guarding Dwight Howard, DeAndre Jordan, or Marc Gasol in a 7 game series. All I see is Dunks! I know Duncan is a very skilled player but they can't seriously expect him to bang with the Centers in the West. The guy is only 39.

the days of C's that can dominant the post night in and night out are done. Until one comes along, a player like Duncan is more than capable of playing center and guarding the bigs these days.

Well he did name 3 centers that would very likely dominate 39 year old Duncan night in and night out....Boogie might be another that we could add to that list.

Against a 39 year old Duncan they can. Maybe not always scoring 30 points or whatever, but they'd own the boards and would force the Spurs to send help. Duncan is still pretty good, but he can't handle the top centers in the NBA night in and night out anymore.

I'll trust the 82-respondent poll that comes out next year.

Also, with a tour boat five feet behind the previous tour boat for its entire length, I think it's actually impossible to drown in the Riverwalk.

How is this compared to expecting Chuck Hayes to guard Zach Randolph, Aldridge, Blake Griffin, Jordan, and Gasol?

that's what i mean. the game no longer has these types of bigs and mainly relies on how good your guards are. It's going stay that way for a long time. And Duncan has proved long ago to be smart enough to still be able to hold his own defensively even against these "top centers" who spend a lot of time outside the box and get most of their points in the paint off putbacks and alleys. Only 1 year removed from All defensive 2nd team, that isn't going to change much. Until a breed of consistent post centers comes along, the pf and C position are interchangeable. And the way it is trending, small ball is going to be played more and more.

LOL at perennial all-defensive team member Tim Duncan having trouble guarding D'Andre Jordan or Dwight Howard.
