It comes down to chemistry and health, not stats on paper. Historically speaking and if I was a betting man, I would put my money on the Spurs every time. If Harden, Howard and Lawson play to their full potential, then we are a serious contender. Unfortunately, Howard is often soft and injured, Harden has his ego and Lawson has his demons. It doesn't bode well for the Rockets.

Mavs clearly better than both the Rockets and Spurs with the acquisitions of Deron Williams and Matthews.

LMA is still as overrated as he's always been. The Spurs are yet another year older, and gave up a lot to pick him up. They're still a threat just because the Spurs are always a threat, but yes, I would put us above them in the standings.

Line-up wise, we're about even. But we have the better coach.

We won't know how well the Spurs have aged again until half way into the season. They've been very lucky with injuries. Duncan, Aldridge, and Parker have to stay healthy for them to be dangerous.

DMo's post defense was outstanding last season. The times that DMo was actually going against LMA he more than held his own on the defensive end of the floor. If DMo is healthy and has his mobility then I think he will surprise a lot of doubters when the Rockets go up against the Spurs and LMA.

Too long to wait until the end of the season. Better that we speculate now, so this thread can survive!

Speaking of Lawson. Do we have any idea around what time his 30 day stint is over and what his next steps may end up being. Aside from the fact we traded for him and we know he has issues I have no heart squat as far as news or next steps in regards to him. Has anyone else?
