or he can shoot better than 39%
yao averaged 25 and 10 on 44% not good for yao, but better than Mcgrady in that series... Yao stepped up more than Mcgrady in the 08 series

Hmmm, but McGrady is the only one on the team, right. What happened to that argument about him sucking in game 7? 29 points, 13 assists, 5 boards, 3 blocks on your perclaimed "atrocious" 48% shooting.

He's put up stats like that across entire series' (5 or 7 before the rule change) it wasn't just one or two amazing games. You're trying to trivialize his stats because he hasn't played enough games? He's gone to a deciding game in every series... there is no doubt he'd of put up amazing stats if he'd advanced.

If he could rip up a defense like Detroit's he could do it to anyone else.

no... the more playoff games he plays the less his scoring, his assists, his rebounding will go down.... look at what the 07 playoff series did to his stats...

Now I KNOW you understand basketball a lot better than that and that you actually watched the Jazz series.

So you should know your post was nonsense. No one said the streak was BECAUSE of TMac. He just led us...everyone else stepped up, like they do in 95% of our wins.

That said, TMac did NOT step up and pretty much negated all of the great things we did at the end of the game. He single-handedly killed us.

He spent the entire game griping, played TERRIBLE D and took too many ill-advised shots in crucial situations.

If his attitude when the going gets tough is going to be to whine, complain, make frustrated faces and shoot contested jumpers, then we are screwed. If he gets pissed and plays harder, we are going to advance. Tonight he did the former, so let's hope it changes or we have no chance.

Whatever happened to the whole "I am going to come out and shoot early during warmups all season?" (Said during a two game stretch where he did during the streak and actually shot lights out)

How so? Yao was putting up 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while shooting 44% from the floor, and turning the ball over 5 times a game.

There is no way you could say Yao outperformed McGrady last year.

Oh yeah, forget the two 8 turnover games, three 4 turnover games, and 1 5 turnover game, all in last years playoffs. Don't forget the awful D on Boozer, you have to be crazy to say Yao stepped up more than Tmac.

+1. These people think that if they flips heads 4 times in a row, if they'll flip heads 100 times in a row. McGrady played in 32 playoff games in his career. Kobe played in 131 playoff games in his career.

that's what he's goot at.. and he needs those stats to look good to maintain his sponsors...

winning is different. it's not a coincidence that he lost all his series. if he really is playing with a bad team then that series score would be too bad, but the case is he starts winning iwth 3-1, 2-0, and blew it. yikes!

    He was garbage tonight.

Terrible attitude, whining at everyone and making that face. No effort on the defensive end tonight.

Single handedly killed any chance we had when we went on that run at the end.

I'm sorry, but not one of you can say that he went out and played hard tonight. He played hard, on offense, for the first four minutes of the game.

TMAC is way overrated. His shooting is the worst among all-star players except Kid. He is a sub par all-star player, not even close to a super star.

yup... mcgrady apologists will show his "all time great" playoff stats and not realize that stats do not show the whole picture... The dude is ZERO AND SEVEN in the playoffs with multiple teams and multiple supporting casts... He may get you 28 pts but he doesnt show up in the right moments of the game

He wasn't the player last year (or this year) he was prior to the back injury-(ies).

He still was the best player on the court while shooting sub-40% from the field. He was singlehandedly responsible for the vast majority of our shots during that series. What does that tell you about the team's performance in the playoffs last year? Remind me again - who stepped up in game 7 last year?

P.S I wasn't talking about only last year - I was talking to the people who insist on calling McGrady a career choker in the playoffs. It just isn't true.

At one point Tmac was b****ing at Scola for something and Scola was like "it is not my fault, then he turned his head and it looked like he uttered....F you....

Your whole argument is absurd, for the one point that TMac isn't our #1 option. Yao is, and he isn't here. Therefore shouldn't be expected to put up #1 option numbers, which you are comparing too. You failed to respond to your statement that he did bad in game 7. Ill put up the #'s one more time. 29/13/5/3 on 48% shooting. If you can get your #2 option to put up those numbers, that is amazingly good. Therefore rendering your argument false.

THE GUYS ON TNT EVEN SAID THIS...KOBE DOESNT GET DOUBLED LIKE MCGRADY DOES...his 50+ point games (dallas especially) he was playing 1 on 1 the entire time. That doesnt excuse him for tonight, he was garbage, complete useless garb..
