Guys, I heard something during the game about how McGrady is one of ONLY 5 players in NBA history to do something...I missed what it was, so...what was it?
I don't think there was such a reference. Maybe you heard them talking about Tmac having his 40 something 40 point game of his career. His 9th with Rockets. They asked Clyde. he might have mentioned that he had 5 40 point games with the Rox I could be wrong though
maybe it's time for all the doubters and naysayers to admit that they were really stupid. I think we should have a thread for "Tmac for AK47 REVISITED" and all the other "trade Mac for a bag of chips" crap.. I really really dont want to jinx him right now, so I am gonna stop, but I just love this feeling. I never lost faith in his ability and I believed in him all the way. it's just great to see him play the way he has been for the past 4 games. oh, and one more thing, I have a little something for "Tmac is mentally weak" people: did u watch the post-game interview??? my man was like "when I get on a roll and play, no defense can stop me. with Yao out, I have to take over and I've done this several times in my career" YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH...I've been waiting for a very long time, but finally, I can say it comfortably: MAC IS BACK
No, I am positive Worrell mentioned it, and Clyde even commented on it a bit further (saying something like "that's an elite group to be in" or something along those lines). It was a comment about how he was one of the youngest five players in NBA history to reach a certain milestone (statistically speaking).
I believe Clyde was high on something. He grouped TMac with a bunch of all time great centers such as Wilt and Kareem -- not exactly the same type of players.
oh I know what ur talking about. Worrell said that he is the 3rd or 2nd player(I really forgot) in 40 points games in Rockets history (they included Hakeem and another great guy, I really forgot him too ) and Clyde said, like usual, "elite group to be in" .
Yeah heard that too. Scored some amount of points and rebounds in an age limit, something like that. I was scratching my head becuase I have heard that before. Also I was surprised Clyde said he watched a lot of Utah basketball this year. What's wrong with him.
He was commenting on a how McGrady was one of only five players in NBA history to reach a statistical milestone at his age; the list included names like Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tracy McGrady, and someone else. He wasn't comparing the players to one another in terms of 'style' or anything like that, he was just commenting on the elite list of players who did it before McGrady. But yeah, one can only wish Clyde would get high before each game, the telecast might be a bit more entertaining...
Not everyone doutbed him...I was sickened reading thread after thread about T-Mac having no heart, not manning up, trade t-mac of A.I., Kobe d4ck sucking...blah blah blah... so glad to see T-Mac dominating and proving all the doubters/haters wrong!
The comparison using age as an index doesn't make much sense since the other players on that list started their NBA careers at 22 years of age or older whereas McGrady started his at 18.
True, but he had 451, 458, and 1213 points at age 18, 19, and 20 already. That's 2100+ points advantage over the other players in the comparison, even without counting his 2065 points at age 21.
