    Luis Flores--PG--6'2''--195--Manhattan--Senior

    Strengths:
Puts full-court pressure on the offense without letting them go by… a great athlete… will get to the line often because he is a very tough attacker going to the basket and he’s also not afraid to take physical contact… does a good job of creating a lot of space to get himself easy lay-ups… a terrific scorer, has no trouble getting open lanes and getting into the basket because of his first-step and quickness… loves to run the fast break…

    Weaknesses:
Very limited shooter, makes most of his shots as lay-ups and can’t hit from much else where… takes too many shots out of his range… not that great of a decision maker… he plays point guard, but really is an undersized shooting guard or combo guard because he does a lot of the scoring for his team… only plays offense in a fast-break style, needs to learn to control the tempo and become more of a floor general, he seems to have only one tempo which is cutthroat…

Well, maybe he'll turn out to be another Cuttino-like diamond in the rough. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

I was hoping we'd pick up Darius Rice. Sounds like he has the potential to be an ideal SF next to Yao: pure shooter, athleticism to be a good defender. But none of this really matters.

Have no clue on this guy. Looks like he might be another Iverson....jacking up shots. Doesn't seem like much of a passer w/ his stats.

He might be taking Nachbar's position and sit on the bench for the next 2 years.

I was hoping for another lights out shooter at pg...blake stepp. Watched him play as Gonzaga ran over my school Valparaiso. Maybe we can pick him up as a free agent. This guy feels like a dimaond in the rough though now that I hear more about him

    LOL...position on the bench.

Yeah, I don't know anything about him. I have never heard of him. I am pissed I tuned in too late, I only caught the end of the JVG interview thing.

Damn HBO and their sex shows!

Not for another week it looks like. Man, it's going to suck when nothing happens and we have SF, Mobes, and Cato back on this team. Mobes is going to say that we cheated on him and he caught us! HAHAHAHA!

    Assists: 1.6
    Turnovers: 2.4

A PG with that assist-to-turnover ratio?!?

Well, at least he's headed for the right team. ;)

Looks like Flores' stint with us will be just about as long as Najera's...

According to the Dallas morning news...

    http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/062504dnspomavslede.294bb05e4.html

Mavericks-Rockets swap: Dallas traded the draft rights to guard Vassilis Spanoulis, which the Mavs selected with the 50th overall pick, to the Houston Rockets for the draft rights to Luis Flores, whom Houston selected 55th overall.

Spanoulis, a native of Greece, averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 assists in 21 games for Maroussi Telestet Athens in the FIBA Europe League and 11.0 points and 3.3 assists in 26 Greek league games.

Flores played his final three collegiate seasons at Manhattan after transferring from Rutgers. He finished his career as the Jaspers' all-time leading scorer (2,160 points) and averaged 24.3 points per game over his final two seasons.

Why do we always change our mind?!? Why can't we stay w/ our pick and watch it play out? And why to our I-45 rivals? Man, they better not screw up this McGrady trade.
