This! I say we package Ariza and our pick for a pick in the 4-7 range and take Hield

Trading Ariza like this will also free up more cap space

Then we sign Jordan Clarkson, Harrison Barnes, and Al Horford

    Capela
    Horford/Beasley
    Barnes
    Harden/Hield
    Clarkson/Bev

Poeltl has T-Rex wingspan. 7'1 guy with a 7'1 wingspan.

Who's gonna give up a higher draft pick in exchange for Trevor Ariza? He's 30 years old, signed for 8 mil a season for 2 more years, and is on the decline. If we're willing to give up one of the younger players(likely Capela unless someone really overvalues KJ or Montrezl), maybe we can move up in the draft. But Ariza is not gonna be desired by anyone this offseason.

    Pretty funny actually.

But I am hoping we snag Sabonis. Very good pro ball DNA. Excellent NBA brain.

Don't want to take the wind out of your sails, but your Kobe example has extenuated circumstances. Kobe made it crystal clear he only wanted to play for the Lakers, and CHA was the first team that (1) was willing to make a deal with LAL for Divac and with the available cap space to take Divac's salary on.

While its possible some of the earlier GM's might have had qualms about drafting a HS player, it was pretty clear Kobe wouldn't have played for any team willing to gamble.

So... unless one of the players you are pining for in the draft are that committed to only playing with HOU, resign yourself to getting a tweener forward that can't shoot.

If Skal Labissiere falls I don't see Morey passing on him. He was underwhelming at Kentucky but he's got dat potential. Put him in the D-League in check back in 1.5-2 years.

I wish him well. Haiti earthquake survivor whose family is still without their own home. No brainer for him to go pro and get some money so he can help them out. And really, [soapbox] it's a f***ing shame that he couldn't have been paid before now. When that great day comes and the NCAA folds, I will celebrate. [/soapbox].

True. It's possible Kobe would've been taken higher had he been willing to play anywhere. We'll never know for sure. Keep in mind, 1996 was back before teams felt comfortable using lottery picks on high schoolers. Garnett was taken I believe 5th the year before by the T'Wolves, but it was very unusual at that time. That reason alone(and not his demand to play for the Lakers) might've been why he dropped to #13.

If we have a top 10 pick, I better not see him spend time in the D-League.

sigh...another jinx thread, because OP doesn't bother to research the correct pick.

Rockets currently have the #12th pick

We are eliminated from any higher pick, but we could drop to #14. These are jinx threads, when we talk about the wrong pick. People...we need to fockass on the #12th pick. Don't get it wrong!

I don't think we can get up to 10 at this point, so you're safe.
