Nobody in the league would trade Edgecombe’s potential for what Jalen Green is

Easy to think that now, but there's still the unknown...

Top 5 nba picks the last 10 years:

    Markelle Fultz
    Scoot Henderson
    James Wiseman
    Lonzo Ball
    Patrick Williams
    Isaac Okoro
    Josh Jackson
    Kris Dunn
    Jahlil Okafor
    Dragan Bender
    Marvin Bagley

I think Jalen has more upside than Josh Green. If I'm Rockets I'm looking for consistent play and if I'm Hornets I gamble on upside.

I would say no if I'm Hornets, but yes if they throw in Cam Whitmore.

well yeah Josh Green sucks, Jalen is at least a decent starting SG

Still I think this trade is Jalen and 10th to move up to 4th. Which I don’t think is enough to move up 6 spots

    There’s no option for:

Egor Demin 19 year old 6’9” point guard out of BYU.

    He’s my pick thus far.

I don’t agree with this at all. I think if Şengün and Green take decent steps and Jabari and Amen improve as well, they all can play with each other and also fit with many other lineups. While we don’t appear to have “that guy” that can be the true leader of a team, we have a ton of great, young pieces that just had their very first taste of the playoffs and who had basically 2 dead years with Silas. I think basing your entire future’s decisions on one playoff series is extremely short-sighted. Literally everyone stepped up at times except Jalen. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

unless a home run offer magically appears, I think it’s very very risky to make ANY changes in any player under 4 years experience.

Will need an extra 20 lbs of muscle to play past the foul... meaning he's got a long way to meet that comparison. Trade the asset or stash him in the Euroleagues where he can compare notes with Sergio Llull.

    No my questions are:
    1. Who is the professional shooter who is available that works with Giannis in the playoffs, and don't say Booker. Giannis needs closer, and the Bucks have been searching for that guy for years. Why do think the Rockets will find him?
    2. One professional shooter is not enough for an offense built around Giannis. And every current Rocket "shooter" is streaky as heck.
    3. Giannis, Sengun, and Amen on the court together results in the same opponents' zone heavy plan and bad shooting performance we saw against the Warriors.
    4. Giannis doesn't normal guard guys like Jokic, AD, and even Wemby if he gets any post moves. He prefers having a bigger body center to match up with those style players.
    5. We don't have a coach who will develop an modern offensive game plan.

The whole issue with trading Green, No. 10, etc., is that there is no All-NBA level player available that fixes the problems with this team. And all the players who are available would then require swapping out most of the current roster to fit those players.

On top of that, we have no idea who Amen or Sheppard are going to be in say 2 seasons to know the best players to fit with them. Trying to microwave something now just because you feel you have to do something is a mistake.

I'm sure his agent gave him advice not to participate. The athletic test will definitely kill his stock.

Nolan Traore is the best pure point guard in the class.

Everything I've read is that it's a 3 man draft and Edgecombe is a clear drop off.

I'm saying if I'm the Hornets and still not going anywhere even with Edgecombe, I'd gamble on 3 young guys over 1.

Maybe for whatever reason, the system, playing with Ball, or different coaching; gets more consistency out of Jalen.

Cam is a wildcard and I think still worth the equivalent of a non-lottery first rounder.

From what I've seen, picks 6-15 in this draft should all be similar.

Explore trades first. If they keep it take Kasparas Jakucionis.

If I were DMorey I’d pick Kon at 3. Just a great basketball player with skills.

But I hope he falls to 10.

LaMelo. Ja. KD. IDC just make a package and swing for the fences. If SA gets Giannis and Dallas when Kyrie comes back from injury, we will go from best team in Tx to worst with not enough to advance through this conference. None of it will matter, however, if Luka leaves the Lakers. On that day... "houston, i am so happy."

Agreed. As much as we bomb on Jalen Green (been a Jater myself), I really don't see how Edgecomb would be any better either. This draft really has a huge dropoff after the top 3 - I'd really hope that Stone decides to trade out of this year's pick and try to get more future unprotected first rounder(s)

Also, if people are talking themselves into Jase Richardson... really? A 6 ft midget who does everything maybe half as good as Reed Sheppard and has less athletic ability and less size?

Maluach? The big who got like 1 rebound in a Final Four game? Soft as Charmin, just started playing ball, and has terrible instincts. Hell no.

Yea this draft blows after the top 3. Could talk myself into Walter Clayton Jr. with a late first rd pick though.

I would like a trade back for future pick and pickup a backup big in the 18-25 range to ultimately replace Londale.

You just have to draft for a specific need or role and it's still a useful pick. Just don't expect a cornerstone of the future....

Egor Demin is catching my attention
Kon Knueppel looks like a solid bench shooter
Jace Richardson has a very high IQ and I think would be a Jalen Green replacement.
    Collin Murray-Boyles plays Udoka ball
Rasheer Fleming looks the part and has the outside shot and defense

Lots of directions the team could go in this draft and I would be cool with it.

Or, trade Jalen to Washington for the 6th pick then use the 6th and 10th picks as part of a trade package along with Jabari and future draft capital for Giannis.

If we can’t get into the top 3, we should trade the pick to Miami for their unprotected 2026 frp pick. Riley is ready to break it down and do something. Having the 26 picks opens up both 27 picks and swaps for us. Or we could do something like this FVV. #10, Cam for Herro, Highsmith. Gives Riley an expiring 44m contract at a position of need, a project with potential, and a lottery pick for Herro.

To be able to trade the most amount of picks after the draft this offseason, the Rockets would need to deal every pick in 26, 28, 30, and 32, and keep at least one pick in 27, 29, 31. As such, really any future year would work, but the later the pick is, the more offseasons/trade deadlines it can dealt in.
