At the end of the 4th quarter what did Lowry do when they tried to throw the lob to Marion to win this game like they won the one in preseason against us? That's right he didn't let it happen. So does Lowry make a difference? Hell yes! Would we be 2-0 with him? Hell yes! He does a lot for this team but you have to understand the game of basketball to truly see it.
Jazz do look bad and I could see this happening. Deron is the best PG in the NBA and as much as I hate the j*zz, I would love to see him here
My initial thought was that it's hard to say that our record would be any different because it's just one guy, but when you get right down to it, he could have made a huge difference in both games. In the LA game, he would have given us a better offensive option at the point when Brooks was obviously gassed and was making a living of throwing up threes. In the GS game, he certainly would have done a better job on Ellis and/or Curry. I won't go so far as to say that he would have shut them down because they are both just really good scorers that appeared to be "on" in that game, but I'm sure he would have done a better job. You really could make a case that the Rockets would be 2-0.
2-0 like i said in another post lowry is good at stopping bleed outs. He's more conservative and is likely to draw a foul and slow things down. The genious that said jordan hill must have not watched the games. Lakers as lost because of guard turnovers. Warrior was lost because of guard defense on the perimeter
I hate to get into the "what if"s, because the fact is we are 0-2. But. Objectively, it really isn't even close. Last year, from Morey himself, Lowry was called our most important player. The past two games we've lost by a combined 6 points. You would think one of your most important players would be able to make up the difference.
The biggest difference is Brooks could actually catch a breather. He has been non stop on the court for both games.
Kowing Lowry, he would have blocked a shot here, affect a shot there. He probably would have gotten to the line 2-5 more times than Brooks, so saying that we would be 2-0 is not a bad assessment.
Yes, this is why Chuck Hayes was starting at center and Brad Miller played 3 minutes. Also why Jordan Hill doesn't play and the Rockets signed Dampier. Oh, and can't forget about Shane still starting. Good point.
im not sure. but if anyone here knows how the rockets would have done against the bulls in the 90's, i would be curious about that to thanks.
1-1 ....they would win against the rockets and still LOSE to the WARRIORS the lakers game was adelman's fault for not taking yao out off the floor earlier...yao was bad in that game, he looked out of sync, should have taken him out earlier....then when he fouled out the rockets made a little comeback(i am a yao fan btw)
Lowry would help shut out opponents guard that Aaron Brooks couldn't.....he's going to make our defense better.
1-1, I think he would have made difference in the lakers game, but against the warriors I don't think so, the team was just on fire.
It was his first game dude, 9 points 11 rebounds, 2 block, that's pretty good for a guy who hasn't played for nearly year and half, what you expect him to score 30 points in his first game ..?? geez Plus we were better when yao was in the game, miller was just horrible on defense and that's what cost us the game.
