Don't see what the trading Bonzi talk is all about, especially when not one valuable name is mentioned with it. The only person to be traded on this team is Bob Sura. I wouldn't mind throwing JL3 or Vspan in there if we get a shot at Brevin Knight. Atkins would be nice to have also.

Delonte is my #1 fav for this team, this situation. Bonzi wouldn't do except in a 3rd team deal, but #1 and Little Luke? Yeah, gimme DWest.

    Let Danny play Telfair (LOL).

Maybe he could come in here and bring a spark like Blake did in Denver.

What people don't realize is Rafer Alston is the perfect fit for this team.

Granted, the PG is currently taking a ton of shots, and Rafer can't hit them ... but that's not Rafer's fault. That's just what his role requires of him.

Granted, Tracy McGrady is begging, b****ing, whining, moaning about someone -- anyone -- to make the Mavericks pay when he's double-teamed, and Rafer is a disaster going to the hole... but that's not Rafer's fault. That's just what the role requires of him.

Granted, he's not asked to be the primary playmaker of the team because of McGrady, and that's really the only thing that could be listed as a strength for Rafer ... but that's not Rafer's fault. That's just what the role requires of him.

Mike JAMES?!?!?!?!?! Are you KIDDING?!!?? All that selfish prick will do is shoot, take it to the hole and be a secondary playmaker.

So if you "haters" would stop "bashing" and put the role requirements aside for a minute you would see that Rafer is the perfect fit for this team.

Rafer may be a perfect fit for this team, OMG, but he is imperfect. At best. I do not believe there is a 'Clyde' trade ready to tip the balance and that this team will have to fly as far as it can essentially by the limits of the existing roster.

However, and I do believe this, a better piece to play b/u 1 and some 2 is out there and within the tradeable constraints which essentially IMO revolve around Sura and/or Bonzi and/or this year's #1.

I believe Delonte would be boffo on this squad (for Little Luke and the #1?), with his abilities and limitations and toughness.

The Mo Williams kid who can cause Milwaukee havoc with cap problems this off season looks wowsy to me (for Bonzi and the #1?).

However, I do suspect that mj may well be the one 'called home'. Or the return of Steve(ie Franchise rip) Francis?

Do you think the exact hand to be played is the exact hand that has been dealt already?

And that's why we need him. Because Tmac is the playmaking Point guard. And our PG is expected to be a shoot first type of player when he catches passes from our PG in Tmac.

When are people going to realize that on JVG's Rockets squad, with Tmac, that the PG position is nothing more than a secondary "shooting guard" position (that requires the player to be a good ball handler). That's what it is.

And the reason Rafer takes as many shots as he does is because that's what the offense dictates as Clutch eluded to above. That's what happens when Tmac gets doubled and he has to pass it out.

This team has TWO guys JVG trusts to take people off the dribble. Tmac and Rafer. Now, taking the "playmaking" duties out of Rafer's hands which player do you want to be shooting 3ptrs (sometimes on the move) or driving to the basket for shots. Mike James or Rafer Alston? That's really what it boils down to.

By that logic, Luther Head would be our dream staring pg. He can handle the rock, and he can shoot the lights out from three, right? We already have a better MJ in Luther Head.

Rafer almost single handedly managed to lose the Dallas game with his inability as the point guard to set up the offense in crunch time and make sure McGrady gets the ball. That was completely inexcusable.

This team can win it all. I do not want a repeat of '97 where arrogance prevented us from acquiring Kevin Johnson or Derek Harper and we entered the postseason with Matt Maloney and Sedale Threatt as our point guards. I still firmly believe it was the decision to stand pat with that backcourt which kept us from the title that year. Don't make the same mistake again.

Re: Mike James and these ridiculous accusations of he and McGrady allegedly "feuding" - I thought we already put that nonsense to rest in the offseason? Is he Steve Nash? No. But he can hit an open shot and will willingly take it to the basket, something T-Mac was screaming for ANYONE to do the other night.
