Sura is the X-Factor. If EVERYONE is healthy, then this team is right where we thought it'd be at the beginning of the season as one of the top three contenders to the Spurs.
Sura has not played ball in more than six months! even if he does come back, he wont be in last year's form and certainly wont be our savior....its too late!
We have enough skill and talent and experience to make a run. Now we need some attitude and inspiring play. Bobby can bring that even if his form isn't the same.
this team shouldn't need sura to turn them from loser to winner. I like Sura, I liked the Sura signing, but Sura is a role player. His value is he does a lot of things well but it shouldn't be the difference in this being a good team or not.
He was an important player for the Rockets last year, no question. But X =/ 55 wins with this bunch. Sura isn't really an accurate shooter nor is he a rebounder or an interior defender. Putting all your hopes on his broken down body - when, even if healthy, he's not exactly Oscar Robertson - is unwise.
I think you guys can say byebye to WCF and NBA Finals. LOL. How good is this team? Well, near half of the roster will be changed next season. This team is going into rebuilding mode.
WOW and Anderson Hunt reference! Ironically on that LOADED UNLV team with LJ and GAnthony etal... he was my favorite player! LOL I'm glad im not the only one who still remembers the guy. Whatever happened to him anyway? Oh and back to the thread... The chances of our team being really Healthy is slim and even if by the slim chance we do get everyone back helathy... the time required for everyone to get in game shape, build cohesion and chemistry will likely be too much and thus too late to make any sort of difference.
We're probably a little better than last year. Swift has been a near-total flop. I predicted he'd underachieve here as well - but didn't think he'd be this brutally terrible. Additionally, we miss Mike James. I don't think it was a bad trade, really. But we probably do miss that scoring off the bench more than most of us expected. On the other hand, Derek Anderson really would have contributed meaningfully. Alston would have run the point better than any Rocket from last year. And, of course, Sura would have been tough and Barry would have hit the 3's we've been missing. My prediction: a completely healthy (which is unrealistic, but hey, it's a hypothetical)Rockets team would win about 50-55 games.
