If anyone on the Rockets make it, it should be Landry, our clear-cut best player.

Brooks speed and dribbling would be so fun to watch at the all-star game

Remind me what "tangibles" are in Brooks's favor for the season overall?

Billups scores more, gets more assists, gets more steals, gets more rebounds, shoots better on 3s, gets to the line more and hits 90%, he plays better defense, he's the leader of his team, and his team is an actual contender. I don't still don't get what is the case for Brooks that you're putting forward. Sympathy vote because he doesn't have as much talent around him?

If your looking at the current body of work Billups hasn't had a full squad for the majority of the season. So no he doesn't have more talent around him. His had Melo missing, Kmart, Nene, JR Smith all of them have been missing for a period of time.

His getting that same amount of pts as Brooks is even though he is like the 3rd option on the team. He shoots better free throws (OH LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TODAY???)

AB doesn't deserve over Billups. Oh last of all Denver are in front of us, and I dont care how much payroll is sitting on the bench. Doesn't excuse losing.

He has been more consistent overall. I agree that he is a better leader and what not but are you really going to propose that he is better in those statistical categories no matter if they are by the smallest of margin? Coaches vote the reserves in, and I am sure they won't base the cornerstone of their argument , or revolve around the fact that Billups avgs 1 more asst and shoots .07 better from three point land or what have you. My point is that billups has been playing mediocre with the exception of this month, and that alone should not be the one proponent of him getting admitted into the game.

i dont want brooks in the all-star game

if AB goes into negiotiations with the rockets his agent and brooks will use that as reason why AB should get a lot more money than he is worth then he may leave to a different team because Morey isnt going to overpay for anyone.

also even though I like lowry more I dont think brooks will be traded unless the player we get back in return is a certified star at the PG spot. If we aren't going to trade brooks we are going to extend him. Any extra leverage the player has is going to hurt Morey.

I would rather see Monta Ellis personally, the warriors suck but Monta has been playing extremely well this year.

Billups would not be a bad decision either I feel.

or if the spot can be any player regardless of position then Kaman should get the nod as well.

Billups has lower TOs too. But the big difference is not stats, it's how to run team offense.AB's decision making as a PG is one level below Billups.

He's been more consistent in what way? Billups has been a better player every month.

November, Brooks scored 15 ppg shooting .522 TS%.
November, Billups scored 15.7 ppg shooting .568 TS%.

December, Brooks scored 19.8 ppg shooting .564 TS%.
December, Billups scored 18 ppg shooting .639 TS%.

January, Brooks has scored 21.8 ppg shooting .558 TS%.
January, Billups has scored 24.1 ppg shooting .673 TS%.

And keep in mind that Brooks has gotten 4 more minutes per game in December and January, so that's the primary reason he scored more per game last month.

Its no contest when you factor in intangibles like decision make and leadership, but True Beaner wanted to make a case based on the so-called tangibles. I don't see it.

That and Carmelo Anthony is a black hole trying to win the scoring title/mvp. Is Brooks the first option on the Rockets team?

If anything, Brooks's game is based on speed and scoring only, very few tangibles, if at all.

He is still overrated by a lot fans here, to a less degree than last year though.

What does that have to do with being a true fan. It's called being unbaised and actually noticing what other players in the NBA are doing.

u do know it's Stern's call regardless of who the coaches picked

hell David Stern pick Chris Gatling as a replacement All-Star for the Mavs in '97 before he was traded to the Nets days after

I forgot that. If its the call of one man, Brooks has a better shot of making it. He could give Houston an all-star just so we have someone representing our team that weekend.
