Too bad, we don't have Cuttino and Francis again to trade for Iverson like we did for McGrady. Iverson should demand a trade to play with Yao.
hell yes i would do this trade in a heartbeat. im sry but backs don't get younger. t-mac will never be the same. his 1st year in houston will be the best he'll ever have as a rocket. this is the same injury that made him miss half a season last year. now it's starting all over again. even when he does come back, every 15 games or so he'll be due for another back spasm t-mac said his back was 110% before the season started. looks like we were fooled.
Wouldnt do Tmac for AI. I think AI is a heckuva player, got heart for days, but I just dont think he'll operate as part of the unit. AI has to get more touches than anybody and wont defer or be a role player over stretches - Tmac has shown his willingness to be Team Mac, and the obvious point is Yao is the focale.
would never trade tmac for AI. AI can get statistics, but he is not suitable for Yaoming and this team. Can you image that Ai only shoot 13 or 14 times per game as tmac often did this season? Tmac has changed his playing style to adjust to the team and Ai cannot do that.
Look at tracy in the last 2 weeks. he had been playing like the 2004-2005 version. tracy>iverson. better shooter, better passer, scorer, rebounder, defender, leadership....
Anyway, you kinda want to see Yao and T-mac win one together. Let's not be ROF where nothing matters so long as the Rockets win. If we want players to be loyal to the organization, then the organization has to show a reasonable amount of loyalty to the players.
Good luck guys with all the suggestions but no one knows how Iverson responded to practice, if you guys are looking for gelling. Think again. I thought i read someone said he can be cancerous, well you are right about that. Ditch AI somewhere else, this team does'nt need him. GO ROCKETS!
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...LYF?slug=aw-iverson120806&prov=yhoo&type=lgns tHE mavs want AI !!!!! thy better not get him
I would think that only the Mavs, Pistons, and the Suns are both competitive and deep enough to trade for Iverson without leaving gapping holes in their teams. SA won't touch. Miami would never trade DW and I can't see who else Philly would want. Orlando is playing too well to wish to mix it up. Cleveland doesn't have any one to offer up. Jerry Sloan wouldn't touch AI. So you are really down to those three teams. No one else would trade for Iverson because he can't make the rest a contender.
Well, the latest says that AI will be traded by Tuesday. We'll see what happens, but I don't have a good feeling about this whole AI thing, I am terrified of having him join the Mavs or the Lakers or one of those teams we love to hate.
Iverson did say he wanted to play with a great big man...and last time I checked there was only one of those in the league. I'm still unsure if I'd do the trade or not, but anyone who thinks that Iverson has less heart or skills than Mcgrady does is nuts. Iverson may be a bit of a malcontent sometimes, but the dude has hussle and heart and is willing to sacrifice anything for the sake of winning. He is the toughest player in this league and he'd never leave the game if he got a knee to the gut or something of that nature. I'd do T-Mac/Howard/First Rounder for Iverson/Iguodala.
seriously, the more i thought about it the more i think Rockets can make some real loud noise when it comes to June with AI on the roster. The question is how willingly would our Owner Les open his wallet and what's CD and morey think in term of this team and AI's value. The rockets have to be thinking about the current condition of tmac and his lack of offense. Yao is great but they will need tmac's offense in playoffs time. adding to it Tmac has a minor incident with back spasm again. With sixers looking to trade Al ASAP there isn't room and time in the world for "good or decent" trades presented to phil from anyone. very different from ron artest trade. sixers are looking for young talents, trade picks, and cash for a rebuilding future. We got the 4.5 exception left (i think), young talents, picks, and most importantly Wells!!! Wells obiously is a undervalue assets which sixers can benefit this season and be cap relieve next season. Howard would be another bone for sixers if they are looking to trade webber out (not to us).
This is actually what I had in mind, however i am not sure if they will take howard along with the package. plus i think we still have out TE
he is a thug. as i said before, he is a grade 3 cancer. once you're Infected with this guy, it spreads like wildfire throughout you're organisation. Say no to a bonafide cancer...
