its a good debate.....it has its pros and cons.... Tracy is willing to defer to yao..i don't think AI would defer to anyone...but I love AI and his heart..he plays the game cause he loves it and he is tough as nails....Tracy is made of glass...one fall and he limps around like he is 80 years old...tracy has good chemistry with this team and I don't know if AI would...its hard...but maybe if we could get Korver and Iggy, I would def do it...but I still like Tracy.... but why do anything when you are 13-6..????
I love AI. And I do not believe he would be a chemistry killer, as he was one of the first to praise Yao ("gift from God"). But even IF the the Rockets could get him for their junk, that would be two past their prime superstars with a history of back problems in the starting 5. Championships are won by talent and chemistry, but a third (just as important IMO) criteria is luck at avoiding injuries. Houston has been able to win w/out McGrady. But can Houston win w/out both McGrady AND AI??? Especially with a depleted bench?
T-Mac is a team player with us. The essence of this AI thing is that AI is not a team player. He will be highly motivated for the rest of this season after he gets traded, but after this season, it will be more I-I (not AI). Sorry, but I am going to laugh with evil glee if Mike James ends up getting moved to Philly through all of this.
Guys what you dont understand is that Philly is going to blow up the whole team. Korver does them no good if there isn't someone getting a double team. etc. There is no point in keeping Webber either. So all we gotta do is insert ourselves in a way that we end up with Korver which would be a much better piece in our offense. I dont care if he gets someone elses minutes cause with JVG that means he earned them. He is deadly from range. imagine him luther and Novak playing with Tmac and Yao.
Man I would rather have Iguadola than AI at this point. The other AI can do it all. Athetlic, good defender, good ft, good FG, good 3pointer, young. If bonzi was tradable i'd get Iguadola in a second.
Iverson is pumping in 31 points a game and has a heart the size of the Summit ~ oh yeah AI has been to the finals before. I'd seriously consider the trade if only because T-Mac is a shell of the player he was a couple of years ago while AI is still peaking. Still there is no way that Philly trades for T-Mac at this stage of his career -- it would be the Webber trade part 2 for the 76ers.
Got to admit this is a mouth watering starting lineup: Iverson McGrady Yao Battier Hayes The bench: Spanoulis Novak Padgett Dikembe Snyder *Plus a couple of D league / scrub vets
Whatever happens w/AI or the 6ers, Iguodala is staying in Philly. There has to be one young player for the franchise to build around.
Philly is looking to rebuild, not get a guy three years from retirement. They wouldn't trade AI to Houston for anything but all of Houston's young players....Hayes, Head, VSpan, Synder. It's like the Barkley trade back when. We'd have the big three - but would we have enough role players left? It would make us a better odds on favorite for next year though when we had the summer to sign a few free agents. I'd probably pull the trigger. Same with Minnie. If they'd take Hayes, Head, VSPAN and Synder, we might get KG. But they wouldn't be interested in Yao. No, Minnie would trade away all their older players for young guys...suck and hope for a great draft pick. Once stacked, they might trade for a few stars.
If the worst case scenario works out for dallas its over for Rockets and Spurs but I just dont see Dirk, terry and AI on the same page, their will be no chemistry! what I can see is AI going to Minny and playing with KG and I'm saying that there will be chemistry there but I can see the trade happening.
I think Rockets should trade Juwon Howard , Rafer Alston , their first round draft pick for Allen Iverson and Philidelphia's lottery pick. The Rockets won't go to the lottery. They may also trade Bob Sura too. I don't really care if Juwon gets united with C-Webb.
He played in the East. All the EC teams sucked that year. As for trading A.I. striaght up for TMac, I wouldn't do it. Iverson can't guard anyone one-on-one over 6'3". He doesn't rebound, he's probably more injury-prone then TMac, and he's a horrible shooter from the field. I admire his heart and abilities to make things happen, but I'd rather have TMac because he's taller to guard bigger players, more athletic, and why would you trade one of your star players when the team is currently tied for the 4th best record in the league?
I would not trade t-mac for AI. I love AI, I always have. He's one of my favorite players, and he may very well be better than Tracy, but I like what Tracy brings to this team better. I know Tracy can get it done with the Rockets, I don't know how A.I. would handle the new surroundings and having to defer to our big man. That little bit of doubt is enough for me to say lets keep tracy in place. This team is one of the best teams in the league currently, we are a threat to win the finals, and I don't want to screw up that chemistry. Furthermore, talk of T-mac's demise have been greatly exaggerated. All that said, if we could actually get Iverson for anyone else but Tracy our Yao... I'd be very tempted to. Even if we had to give up first round picks for 2 years... it'd be worth it for a backcourt made up of Tracy and AI with Yao dominating the inside.
I thought this was Clutchfans. But we need to stop with this trade crap, how are we supposed to have Team Chemistry, after all that T-Mac has done for us, guys we obviously won the trade with Orlando, if this were to happen AI would complain some more then we would have to trade him, then what are we left with? c-rap that's what. Wii sucks- Go PS3/360
I just heard on the radio that someone from Minnesota management (not McHale) said that they would obviously like to go after AI, but with his salary it's just not realistic/possible. Who knows if it's the truth or just to throw people off, but that's the statement.
