I'd rather find another basketball team to cheer for than be forced to cheer for Iverson as a Rocket.
good points. all i'm saying is this: you cant just put a couple of big name players together and think you will win a championship. The players have to be complementary (eg the four all-stars lakers and mavericks 3 or so years back).
This is the way I see it. We keep thinking tracy will come around, and around has come. You can't coast the entire season and turn it on in the post season. It all falls in the 'you practice how you play' thing. I believe he really doesn't want the responsibility of being the leader of the team (ex. 'I am a playmaker'). As much as I want Yao to be the leader of the team, under the current NBA rules he will never be. He will simply be the one who keeps us in it. The league has gone to the perimeter player (due to the change of illegal defense). AI, like it or not is a superstar perimeter player, who will want to take the final shot to tie or win the game. The idea that Yao would get less touches is ridiculous, AI wants to win (and hates to lose), and that means making sure Yao gets his touches. If trade happens it will simply be superstar SG for superstar SG. Anything else would leave Philly on the wrong side of a lopsided deal. So the idea that we don't have anything to offer is ludacris. Tracy is what he is, a superstar talent that doesn't have the mental toughness to take us to the top. Doesn't make him a bad guy or a bad player it is just what he is. I think if we are able to win with tracy (I am talking post season) it will be blowout wins. But if the games are close, we won't survive (he will simply be KG).
No Rockets players have "no-trade" clauses, or at least that is my understanding after the Mike James fiasco. That is one of the main reasons why the team would not give James a clause. (Not that I am advocating trading T-Mac, BTW)
After hearing the AI rumors, do you guys think management even gave it a thought of the possibility? If so do you think management is even considering trying to formulate a possible package?

Successful Scenario Due to Houston and Philadelphia being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Philadelphia had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The Rockets need to start tonight's game as quickly as possible. Obviously, the board as a whole has too much time on its hands. Iverson for T-Mc....sheesh.
SJC, I had to look back and forth over your post for about 10 minutes before I could decipher what was going on in that trade. Yeesh. Charlotte trades basically their entire starting lineup for Allen Iverson in that scenario. So they essentially would become the new 76ers, albeit with a lot more cap space. I agree that I wouldn't mind having Kyle Korver, Brevin Knight and Gerald Wallace on the Rockets, though.
