    - AI took the sixers to the Finals in a year the East was ridiculously weak (Special mention for Deke's last productive year).

    - AI will not be making the playoffs anytime soon, not with the Sixers, even though he's in the east. If you think TMAC makes bad shooting decisions, you havent seen AI chuck a couple.

    - The game has to be centered on AI. He doesnt make teammates better. If there's any such thing as a non-dominating 40pts.... . ANd if you think AI will drive to the basket and then pass to Yao for a dunk, hmmm...

    - AI plays exciting basketball. Excitement only goes so far if you fail to make the playoffs repeatedly.

-AI does have heart. So did steve. AI does very well when he is the focal point of the game. Ditto for Steve. I'd do Kobe for TMAC in half a heartbeat. Maybe Garnett for TMAC if I were a little tipsy. AI? oh h*ll no

If we can get Iggy, it's got to be a done deal. That's one all-star and a quality player we can use as trade bait. Maybe we can package Iggy, Bonzi and Juwan and a first pick for Garnett. Sweet!!

Imagine a team with AI, Garnett and Yao!!!

You basically summed up my thoughts. Granted, Iverson hasn't really had a chance to play w/ a superstar (no way is Webber one now), so I would still like to see him prove me wrong. But for now I don't know if he can coexist w/ another superstar and still have them both be very productive.

I haven't given up on Tmac. And don't forget, most of Hayes points comes off a Tmac pass. He still draws the defense and opens it up for everyone else so he's still very valuable. My major gripe is that we still need a starter who can penetrate, and Tmac isn't that guy. Unfortunately that means we live and die w/ Yao in the post or long range jumpshots. I don't care who fills that role (ideally Tmac of course), but it's a major weakness on the offense.

Like someone else said earlier in the thread (and in the thread in NBA Dish), other teams in the league can offer far, far better deals for AI than we ever could. There's no point in entertaining such outlandish fantasies :/ .

The only thing that would make me consider it is McGrady's bad back. But, Iverson is always one drive away from an injury himself. When both are healthy, McGrady is the superior (and bigger) player.

But I promise you nothing is going to bother him for an entire season. The mad man will play through just about anything.

when was the last time a player single handedly took a team to the finals? hakeem?

AI has a better shooting percentage this year. he also almost shot 45% last year to tmacs 41%.

he's averaged over 7 assists the last three seasons.

to hold his exciting style against him is absurd. and tell me the best player he's had on his team besides him. no guard has single handedly taken teams to the championship.

i wouldn't to tmac for AI for this team. it'd be stupid. however AI after all the punishment he's taken at 31 in his 11th year plays over 42 minutes a game. to compare him with steve is absurd.

AI is incredibly underrated. whereas KG is incredibly overrated. i'd take AI on my team over KG everyday of the week.

oh and as much heart as steve had...i was never a fan of his game. so its not AI's excitement that wins me over. he never had a great number 2 option on his teams.

This is crazy  . I will never take AI over TMAC. AI and Yao may not be compatible. Just be patient, TMAC will return soon.

Of course I would trade T-Mac (or the artist formally known as T-Mac) for AI, and I would do it in a heartbeat.

However, realistically speaking, Philly will absolutely not be interested in taking back another huge contract. They will be looking for a combination of young talent/expiring contracts/draft picks.

So unless AI specifically demands a trade to the Rockets, we have nothing to offer them...unless we offer Yao, of course.

Isn't AI like the most popular player in China outside of Yao?

    China says: Get R Done!

Uh...no thanks...If you saw them get stomped on TV the other night, you can see how dreadful the team is, with AI as the leader...Everything goes through AI and I can't see that happening here...

we need a star guard who WANTS to attack the basket in the fourth Q, especially in the playoff games. Snyder may want to do it, but if he gets blocked by big ben or bruce bowen, it's a no call. you need guy at least at manu or billups caliber.

being said, still no to AI
