unless you think they won't re-sign Ginobili, you should probably remove SAS

Would you build a team around Dwight Howard?

Legler: Personally, I wouldn't but I don't think the Lakers have a choice. They're all in with Dwight Howard at this point.

I didn't see him fitting with Kobe or fitting with Mike D'Antoni. Because of the number of hits he has taken throughout his career, I think he'll have a hard time staying healthy from this point forward. The shoulder issues he has, those aren't coincidental. That's from all the hits he takes. ... I don't think he'll have the impact moving forward that he had in Orlando. There are maturity and winning issues with Dwight Howard. Personally, I would not do it but the Lakers have put themselves in a corner. They can't let him walk out the door.

Would you build around Dwight Howard?

Wilbon: Yeah, if the team was playing in Houston or Orlando(oops he was already there) or Sacramento or some small market place but not Los Angeles. Not Los Angeles. I don't see Dwight Howard being in that place emotionally, where he can take on the pressures that come in Los Angeles of being the face of the Lakers. I don't see Dwight Howard being that guy and I don't think most of those guys in the locker room do either.

    A good fit where?

Legler: Houston. They're a young and upcoming team. One of the youngest rosters in the league. They have a star player in place, which takes a lot of the pressure off Dwight Howard. And most importantly, I think they got a players coach in Kevin McHale, who also can relate to great bigs. He was one himself. He knows how to utilize a guy like that in the offense so that might be a good fit.

I have been saying for a while you guys don't want DH.

After seeing how Tmac was run out for his whining, DH is just the wrong type of player. This season has shown it.

Doubt Dwight is watching. I don't think he wants anything to do with basketball right now.

you being serious? Asik has all these opportunities - 7 FGA compared to 5 by Harden at half. Dwight must be jumping for joy seeing a center get more opportunities than the star guard

    :p

to be fair Harden has probably attempted more than 5 shots..those missed shots just have been counted as turnovers which he has 7 of.....

You pull the trigger on a top five player in the league. Period. Players of his type do not grow on trees.

I remember all the stupid crappeople were saying about lebron a few years back. The lakers had a ton of injuries. They were finally playing well near the end of the season and then they lose kobe. Lets not forget they were playing the spurs.

At this point the Lakers will do everything and anything to keep Howard. They can't afford for him to walk or else they would've let Bynum and Howard go for essentially nothing. They will hire anyone and fire anyone to make him happy. It's going to be the Orlando Magic all over again I feel.

After this past season, Howard is not a top 5 player, maybe top 10. But unless you limit it to centers (not Power Forwards) in the NBA and/or rebound numbers he might not even come out in the upper top 5 of that.
