He is certainly a realistic possibility now. It will be interesting to see how the new inflated NBA salaries effect European players coming over. Before the MLE wasn't large enough to allow the players to cover their buyout and still make a similar salary. That's no longer the case. Llull made $2.5M last season and his buyout was just under $6m. We could only offer Llull the MLE which was just under $7M the first year, so he'd have been losing money that first year. Llull signed an extension but it reduced his buyout. So now with a reduced buyout and $10M being nothing in the current NBA. Llull would be able to come over and get an additional pay raise. Will these inflated NBA salaries cause European salaries to increase? Otherwise, it will make it much easier to convince players to come over.
Guess you missed his play with Grizz last season. Need ball handling and tough D off the bench right now. Bet you hated the Ron Artest acquisition too. Difference is BR is still only 25 and available for reasonable dollars. Buy low, sell high.
