Winning Without Martin

    No it wouldn't. Adjusted plus minus takes into account how you play with everybody, it's not a flat number.

    +/-, even if its adjusted, has so many flaws I don't even use it unless as a secondary evidence to either what I watch or other more reliable stat like PER and TS%. First of all, basketball is a team game, the score you see on the board has so many factors I don't see the point of trying to isolate your own contributions.

    Even if you do regression and try to average the +/-, the fact is you play with your teammates no matter what. If Lebron and Thabeet were teammates and played 100% of the time together, then those two would have very similar +/- no matter how different their stat lines are. One major reason why KM's +/- are almost always even is because he's played on nothing but 0.500 teams for his entire career.

    It looks more and more like Martin will be traded. I just hope we don't get jacked.
