This is the most impressive feat we've had so far in this run, IMO. Running teams over in double digits leads is great and all, but finding a way to win when you're down, when nothing seems to be going your way, or when you're just flat out screwing up at times, that's even better, and a fine quality when we go to battle in April.
I hated this game. I get that every team goes on runs, but I feel like whenever we play a team close to us in the standings, we either lose or we barely hold onto a win after having a healthy lead late in the game. We entered the 4th with a 14 point lead!
Would much rather keep the 20 point lead much like Golden State does. This team still has mental lapses the only difference between this year and past years is they can pull themselves out of it.
Sure, these are the types of wins we couldn't get the last few years. I really don't like that they are slowing the pace down around the 5~4 minute mark. It lost us a tight game against SA and almost gave OKC the win. If Westbrook wasn't typical Westbrick at the last second they would of won. Also, after watching the Phi Slamma Jamma 30 for 30 for the 4th time, I am all for never letting the air out of the ball. Continue to attack until the game ends. OKC kept attacking and dug themselves out of a big hole and got a great chance to win the game. I'm not pleased with the win in that regard. Our defense isn't good enough to do that imo. Man, did the defense look bad to my eyes tonight. I didn't check stats but Rockets defense was stinking' up my den.
Nene deserves alot of credit if it wasn't for his age and injury history he would command well over $10 million a season.
yeah i was frustrated by that 4th Q, but we won and that's all that matters when things don't go right
Man, how good is it to see your team down and believe "they've got this" instead of "yeah, they're boned"?
Dantoni has a knack for calling a timeout, making adjustments, or just flat out yelling at the team at the right time
I'm glad MDA in the post game presser addressed the fact that the Rox don't have a championship mentality and need to come out more focused and not so flat at times and not get ahead of themselves and not do the things that has helped them build this current gaudy record. The main person he really needs to stress this with is Harden. He's the worse on the team in these areas in my opinion.
Folks, our worm has turned the corner. Just sit back and smell the roses, while enjoying the ride of our lives. /thread
Lol...but seriously it was good to hear MDA say these things so hopefully it is being addressed behind the scenes. Harden being the best player has to lead by example in these areas. It's important.
I love it that the law of averages works in our favor sometimes I find my self say things like "The Rockets won't continue to miss everything and the other team won't continue to hit everything" Being down 12 does not give me a heart attack like it use too Rocket River
