At the moment developing is much greater than winning

True but the MO of modern Rockets organization was to pair their high draft pick with an All Star player.

    Think Franchise and Yao.

    Or McGrady and Yao.

    Or Artest and Yao.

Under Leslie, tanking multiple seasons was unheard of because he did not TALK about a culture of winning, he actually made it happen.

Same thing when Harden was brought in.

    I miss that culture.

theres no substitute for winning! you cant lose youre way into championship...

and theres no substitute for hardwrok!
people really want to tank their way around hardwork lolololol
    it cant be done...
what can be done is you work harder and work more so you can beat 'more talented' squads its been done before

theres nothing that you meet more often in nba than talent that aint getting it done ....

and vice versa so many players (and teams) who didnt look spectacular yet they won it all and/or made the names for themselves....
draymond green nikola jokic yanis jimmy butler kawhi

if you dont have top 3 pick dont say 'lets forfeit all the games we are not winning the ring anyway', instead work harder, practice more, become smarter, compete, involve in trades and create the culture to attract good players

hoping green will develop into kobe one day by pure chance is far less probable than stone wheeling and dealing, hiring a great coach and team getting to PO each year and suddenly some lower picks become good and we trade for an unhappy superstar and win it all!

and this is the right way and more fun!

I want to win while developing the young players at the same time but realize if we play the young guys we probably won't win much.

I don't think there is a combination of players on our roster that will get us higher than a play-in spot, but I think there are some lineups that can help key guys like KPJ, Wood, Green, and Sengun develop.

I doubt we are going to have a tight, 7 man rotation with heavy starter minutes.

I don't know how anyone can watch the past couple preseason games and think winning is even an option.

this team sucks…play the young guys and let them get their lumps

we should’ve hired Kenny Atkinson like I wished because he at least has a proven track record of developing players and installed a system of play

We can do both, we need veterans to help with the rookies like the Suns and Hawks not like the Kings and Wolves

Almost everyone here wants to prioritize player development because the potential that some of these players possess can make us contenders someday.

The sooner they pick up on how the NBA game is played and adapt their skills the better. And that is done through direct experience.

Trying to win as many games now as possible with a lineup of Wall, Gordon, etc. might get us to the play in but then what?

We lose a really good draft pick that we could have had if we didn't mind tanking as long as it gave our young players a year of solid development.

Don't lose on purpose. Win as many games as possible but do so while playing our young players heavy minutes.

Winning AND development requires a commitment.

Commitment to positive philosophy and culture.

    Commitment to a proven system.

Commitment to acquiring talented complementary players.

    Commitment to balanced rotation.

    Commitment to winning coaching.
