I didn't realize Dahntay Jones is still out there. He could be a really solid contributor!

...but the problem is he's a spot-up shooter that can't shoot! He has no ball skills and can't put the ball on the floor. He's never going to draw any fouls. So unless he has some sort of Kyle Lowry type breakthrough with his outside shot, his contributions are going to be next to nothing if he can't play at the defensive level of the aforementioned right now.

As for what those players I mentioned will draw, I think it says something when we're this deep into free agency and they're all still available. I'd be willing to bet at least half of those guys settle for the league minimum at some point.

Understood. I watched a lot of Phoenix in the second half of last season and believe in a structure like ours, with added strength and a defined role, Wes could be a solid bench role player. Danny Green (at 26yrs old) had the same type holes in his game you mentioned about Wes - but put it together with the Spurs in system that fit him. I see Wes Johnson fitting our fast paced system with him having the green light only on corner threes.

You wrote Casspi has had less league success than Wesley and then proceed to use Wesley's half of a season as evidence???

Casspi might have had 2 down years, but his first two trump Wesley's career, so no, Wesley hasn't had more league success.

Wesley > Garcia and Casspi. Wesley can actually create for himself and shoot the three/mid very well. A lot of you must don't watch other teams besides the Rockets because Wesley's defense is above average. Wesley gives fits to other opponents because of his length/speed and athleticism. I've seen every game last year and the four guys who gave Harden the most trouble on D were Iggy, George, Wesley, and Allen. Johnson also lighted Harden up for a few games as Clyde was being a cornball and doubting his game. Dude has been on crap teams without any identity, he'd probably flourish as our sixth man since we're set in every position and wouldn't have all the pressure of doing so much because his team sucks so bad.

Up for debate, and at the very least damning with faint praise.

    Patently false.

    At best.

    Exaggeration.

    Grammatically incorrect/a one game sample.

The first part is true, second is pure speculation.

Wes has been an NBA STARTER for most of his career including LAST SEASON. Casspi has not played meaningful minutes in 3 seasons! Wes Johnson has had far more success thus far.

Never suggested a guarantee, (probably) was mentioned in the sentence.

NBA STARTERS aren't league minimum players - and the Minnesota/Phoenix teams he played for barely qualify as NBA teams -- the best team he's been on won 26 games. Johnson started because he was a top 3 pick playing for a bad team, and top 3 picks are supposed to get playing time.

Casspi has averaged more points and rebounds on better percentages in similar minutes over the course of their respective careers.

Someone else is going to have more minutes and be more willing to pay for his potential.

Greg Smith & Chandler Parsons started for us while making about the league minimum, correct? Isaiah Thomas starts in Sacramento making the same. Wes Johnson would not start for us - he will likely sign in the minimum range looking for a team that offers a good fit.

Our 3pt defense/ Wing-defense is astoundingly bad! Time to revisit this since we passed on Wes Johnson who did in fact sign for the minimum as I predicted.

Affordable, young, athletic, Wing Defenders we should be able to pry for D-Mo or Terrence Jones and or a draft pick...

    6-5 220 Iman Schumpert $1.7 mil
    6-7 225 Jeff Taylor $788,872
    6-6 195 Terrence Ross $2.6 mil
    6-6 205 Tony Wroten $1.1 mil
