Windows 98 vs. Windows 2000

    XP is a great suggestion and all but.........

    I only have the option of going to W2K or sticking with 98 - hence why I started this thread.

    correction: I guess I do have the option of going to XP pro, but I dont have the financial resources to justify the upgrade right now.

    What's the spec of your PC? Win2K performs much better with plenty of RAM...

    Also, what do you use the machine for?

    Linux power users: real nerds

    Linux casual users: no such thing

    Windows power users: smart non-techie people

    Windows casual users: go-with-the-flow typical people

    Mac power users: no such thing

    Mac casual users: people who use the right side of the brain a lot OR people who can't set their VCR's clock

    Whats the best place to get more RAM? i really need to upgrade, freaking comp sucks, have windows 98, but i will (hopefully) be going to college in a year, and will try to convince my parents to get me a labtop, so should i just bear it out for a year?

    Win98 is an unstable piece of crap. I'm very satisfied with XP, though.
