    Good. Bringing a defensive-minded coach into a team with two offensive-minded stars would have been disastrous anyways.

    If JVG is out Silas would need to be the guy. Lucas should still be on the staff though. James Harden will still have the ball in his hand like LUKA

    If, as reported, Harden is leading the charge to have John Lucas be the Rockets’ head coach over more qualified candidates, then he’s a large part of the problem, and I have no issue trading him for a massive haul now.

    Agreed. The Rockets only have themselves to blame for coddling Harden during his early years with the organization.

    JVG is a smart guy and he's dealt with a cheap owner before in Les Alexander. The difference here is that Morey's not around anymore to be the middleman between coach and owner.

    Morey's first move. Trading Rudy Gay for Shane Battier. I don't think he was standing in Jeff's way.

    The way it sounds... I think Tilman is asking for JVG to pay THE ROCKETS to coach this team.

    I think JVG wants to coach the Rockets not because he would have a pretty decent team that can skip its way into the playoffs but because he'd be home 50% of the season. That being said, anyone that follows the NBA can see potential red flags planted around working with Fertitta. He's just another version of Robert Sarver but with a "New York Times Bestseller".

    Luka isn't nearly as iso heavy as Harden though. Maybe he could help with this ongoing problem.
