That’s a lot of long term almost dead money to take on for James Johnson. I can see why Miami would make this deal.

So we would have something like this

    CP3/MCW
    Harden/Gordon/Waiters
    Tucker/Green/Ennis
    Melo/Johnson
    Capela/Tucker/Nene

I guess Waiters would give some depth since EGo has injury issues, but so does Waiters. I can’t even guess a vague minutes distribution but that is a very versatile team.

The bigger story is, anyone got a stale bagel for Whiteside?

Waiters' contract is so crappy and he doesn't fit in with what we do at all. He's very ball dominant, inefficient, and coming off a serious injury. I imagine we'd just stretch him if he came along with Johnson. .

I’ve always loved Waiters’ game but unfortunately there’s just not enough minutes available in the backcourt to justify trading for him. If there’s any deal to be made involving those two guys and Ryno, I’m guessing there’d prob be a 3rd team involved.

It's an upgrade which can make room for other upgrades.

Waiter's contract his horrible. That is taking on 1 bad contract plus one horrible contract for our horrible contract. It's not a good trade for us other than Johnson can contribute to this team.

Johnson and Waiters are good enough to contribute to our team. Johnson brings a lot of what PJ does (slimmer, more playmaking/fighting ability) - less thicc, but more kick.

We have the depth to slowly bring Waiters along. He dealt with injury issues all last year, but he turned a corner in 2016. Shot almost 40% from three and showed a great ability to create off the dribble.

By adding two guys who can create their own offense, we are less likely to hit rough patches like we did in game 7. Plus, they'd both offer quality depth, which we could definitely use, considering we ended up running a 6 man rotation by the end of the WCF.

Yes, their contracts are not great, but they are better than the $20 MM sink hole that is Ryan Anderson. If we can get two rotation pieces for him without giving up any major assets, that is a win for the organization.

Waiters will need to go to a 3rd team cus we have no use for him and that contract.

But I can confirm they both delete pictures from their Instagram a lot so it may mean nothing. Waiters deleted all of his pictures about a month ago.

a third team would have to be in play. Waiters is no scrub. No way he plays 3rd string 2. It makes me wonder if ST is in play for something we don't see coming. We still need a long, defending wing. This trade scen

Either a third team is play, or EG is in play. Waiters is no scrub. No way he plays 3rd string shooting guard. And of course we still need long, defensive minded wing as many here have noted. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance Morey can turn Ryno and change into James Johnson and Dion Waiters...

And yes I understand Dion Waiters but Ryno would be gone right? Like, to a different team in a whole different conference?

    Damn Durrelle, git her dunn.

    Like I said, everything.

Have not looked at their cheer leaders but would not be surprised if that needs an overhaul as well.

When was the last time a major trade was done in the middle of the offseason?
