Green is only 19, there was always bound to be flashes of brilliance and some lulls in his rookie season

Lol…. Sixers aren’t taking Wall unless we are taking Tobias Harris and Embiid is shutting down for the year.

You said a Wall/Mobley pnr would be beastly. I was just pointing out that Wall/Wood pnr was not, because of Wall. Wood is the better player than Mobley and if Wall could not be “beastly” with Wood, why would he with Mobley.

If Simmons cared about being great, he'd be in the gym during the offseason working on his shot.
He hasn't done that hell he has said it doesn't matter.

We've already had the conversation about playing him at the PF spot, most of us would be very happy if that was the case .... Simmons has said he wants to play the point and be in control. It's a fantasy to think he'd come here and play the 4.

Simmons is not gonna get in where he fits in .... He wants control.

Here’s a 4 team trade I put together just to see if it would work-

    Philly outgoing-
    Ben Simmons
    Danny Green
    Georges Niang
    Isaiah Joe
    Philly’s 2022 first round pick

    Philly incoming-
    Buddy Hield
    Eric Gordon
    Minnesota’s 2022 first round pick
    Minnesota’s 2024 first round pick

    Houston Outgoing-
    Christian Wood
    Eric Gordon
    DJ Augustin

    Houston incoming-
    Harrison Barnes
    Danny Green
    Marvin Bagley
    Philly’s 2022 First Round pick
    Sacramento’s 2022 first round pick

    Sacramento outgoing-
    Buddy Hield
    Harrison Barnes
    Marvin Bagley
    2022 first round pick

    Sacramento incoming-
    Christian Wood
    D’Angelo Russell
    Malik Beasley
    Isaiah Joe

    Minnesota Outgoing-
    D’Angelo Russell
    Malik Beasley
    2022 first round pick
    2024 first round pick

    Minnesota incoming-
    Ben Simmons
    Georges Niang
    DJ Augustin

First off, why do the Rockets do this trade? One word- Flexibility. After Next season you would have the expiring contracts of Wall, Barnes, and Danny Green coming off the books- for a combined estimate of about 77 million dollars. Able to pick up 2 more first round picks. Although Philly would be picking towards the end of the first round, the Sacramento pick has lottery potential. In a deep draft class, combined with the expirings you have headed into next season- you have many trade chips at your disposal.

next question- why does Philly do this? They add two solid shooters in Hield and Gordon. They also pick up two first round picks from Minnesota. Gordon can handle the ball at times for them. Morey knows this. They will be able to space the floor for Embiid. Morey has been trying like hell to move Simmons and this is the best opportunity he gets to salvage a season with Embiid in his prime, while having the Minnesota picks at his disposal moving forward to upgrade the roster.

    Why does Minnesota do it?
They want Simmons. They believe in his potential and the fit with Towns. They’re able to move Russell for a more efficient player and commit long term to their core 3 of KAT, Edwards, and Simmons.

    why does Sacramento do it?
They’ve been dangling Hield in trade talks for a while now. Bagley never really lived up to his potential in Sacramento. They believe Russell can play SG alongside Fox and handle the ball when needed. They love Christian Wood and are confident he is a building block that they are willing to commit max money to.

I’ll put it like this- from a Rockets perspective. If you told me Gordon could be flipped for a late FRP- I’d do that deal. I definitely want more than a FRP for Wood. But if you told me the FRP for Wood had lottery potential in this upcoming draft and that we’d be able to potentially clear up to 77 million dollars after the 2023 season after making this trade- I’d be open minded to it.

Very good trade. Still think the Rockets should get one more pick for Wood. I was trying to something similar and couldn’t figure out a way that might satisfy all the teams. I ended up cutting Sac out of the equation.

I do not like the trade because we should be getting young talent not old guys

We don’t need middlin young players. The idea is to get traceable assets. That can be a combination of vets on short contracts and draft picks. If you are going to back young players they must have all-star potential or they will just get in the way of developing our young core.

This. Maintaining flexibility moving forward and acquiring as many assets as possible is key. Being able to let Sengun, Jalen, and KPJ develop over the next couple years is imperative . You never know which disgruntled star may be ready to move on from his current situation. If Sengun and Jalen can become what we think they can become- Houston is a very attractive situation in 2023

What about trades that make this middle of the pack team better so that they can compete now. IMO, it's a waste of time hoping that future draft picks work out. Had enough of that from last season.

We are not a middle of the pack team trying to improve our playoff seeding. Playing to get in the play-in at the expense of another top 3 pick is foolish and I believe our GM agrees. We already have a bunch of young up and coming role players. We need an alpha dog and ruining our flexibility to try and be first round fodder in the playoffs would really hurt our re-build. Waiting until next year to go all in really doesn’t take a great deal of patience.

Wind-icaneata-horse, like most morbidly obese people, has no self respect.

But even I was shocked, along with the rest of the co-hosts, when he remarked that he'd rather be spat on than punched, when talking about the CP3-Rondo fight.

    Pathetic "man".

Why would we do this? We don’t save that much money going from wall to Russell and we have to give up a valuable piece in wood to do that?
