Windhorst: Something is going on. Something is going on. Rockets made 6 trades. Not all those players are going to LA. If not Paul George, watch out for Paul Millsap. If he can be sold on Houston, he can force a S&T. They have the assets to get that done.

Carmelo is not getting bought out. They will not buy him out.

If you could trade Ryno and some sweetener to ATL in a SNT for Millsap and then trade Gordon, Capela all of these NGtd for Paul George...

    Paul
    Harden/Trade Exception
    George/Ariza
    Millsap
    MLE/Nene

If this were baseball or the EPL I could understand that statement, but there's a salary cap, so even if he could buy up every player in the league, it still doesn't mean he can get them. Its a ridiculous statement and Plaschke sounds like a whiny child after his toy was taken away.

I'm hoping the NYK find a way to buy out Melo. They might be looking to swing a nice trade...but what situation would be as welcoming as the Rockets? I have no idea who would reach out to the NYK to acquire Melo. The Clippers?

Revert does not require "back" to follow it.

Man, you gotta give Morey credit. For years we watched as superteams were formed and free agents passed on Houston. Through strong drafting and shrewd FA signings, Morey built up the capital to trade for Harden, lure Dwight Howard to Houston (when it was quite competitive), and now get Chris Paul. And we know he's not done.

Say what you will about his 'moneyball' approach, but Morey's been anything but safe in the moves he's made.

I can't pretend to be excited about adding Melo honestly if its via trade, but Morey is smarter than me.

I think Melo can be a valuable piece in the right role. I'd put him a distant third behind Milsap and George, but he's not a scrub.

Is Morey trying to avoid long term deals?

Melo as a buyout excited the hell out of me. As a trade? Well....

Melo is the opposite of the type of player Morey wants, so my assumption here is that there is more to this than meets the eye. Either Melo would be on his way here as a 4th piece (after acquiring another star), or Melo is willing to take a drastic pay-cut to be here.

I think everyone is forgetting that Hayward is still in play. He's a close second behind PG in my eyes

He's really not though. We are done with cap space and Hayward is looking for his max. We don't have any assets to entice Utah to make a sign and trade.

I'd MUCH prefer Hayward to Melo.

True, considering Cyberx alluded to Morey's plan of getting CP3 and then luring Hayward. Would be unbelievable. He could force a sign and trade as well if he tells Jazz he is leaving anyways which all signs point to.

Yeah you're probably right. I've been at work and trying to keep up with all the madness so I've missed out on some of the cap details. Melon as a buyout would have been ideal but I'm with you Hayward > Melo. Too bad it doesn't look feasible

Sure, but that was putting him in a different offense. This offense is predicated on selflessness and ball movement.....2 things Melo isn't exactly known for. But I'm not questioning Morey.....I'm just gonna sit back and let the Wizard show off his massive sleeves.
