    Federer will completely crush/dismantle/embarrass Roddick.

Yeah, they're saying, "If Roddick plays like he did against Murray, he's got a good chance," but the thing is there's one guy in the world that can beat Roger, and he's in a hospital bed watching Jeopardy with Yao.

I don't know; had Nadal been healthy at this year's French, especially given the 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 shellacking Nadal put on Federer last year, I doubt very seriously Federer would have ever won the French, maybe even gotten to 14. It seemed like the torch was passed last year, and that Nadal psychologically broke Federer (I know Federer beat him on clay this year, but I'm not sure that Nadal was fully healthy).

    E.g. (this year's Australian ceremony):

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HEpNuRDLpyg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HEpNuRDLpyg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

It's an awful shame Federer will regain the top spot (and is definitively known as the greatest ever) not because of his increased skill/play, but because of Nadal's bad knees. Sort of like Graf-Seles, just without the actual stabbing. Would have been so much better if they'd been able to settle it on the court.

Hewitt came back & won that match, IIRC. I just really hope an aborigine gives Hewitt his just desserts at some point. Or a dingo eats his baby.

Federer completely dominated Roddick on the ground strokes then got tight and lost the first set

Federer getting mono doesn't put a question mark over Nadal's little reign?

Roddick is playing the best tennis of his life right now -- i'm not sure he can keep it going though if errrr when Fed wins a set or two.

Those deep looping topspin shots Roddick keeps hitting is giving Fed a lot of trouble. I can't recall Andy hitting that shot so much or so well.

Roddick needs to keep up the serving.

I agree with you. Andy looks like a different player out there from what I remember. I remember if he couldn't get a point of the first serve it was usually game over for Andy.

Fed is a little confused with Roddick today -- the power mixed with the spins and looping topspin hits are really getting in his head.

    Very good match.

He had a winner and he blows it. Andy could be good if he wasn't mentally weak.

Great call. It's hard to see him fighting back after losing 4 set points when he was playing his best tennis.

Roddick got really tight -- he's got to find a way to get that out of his head or Fed is going to kill him in the next two sets.
