    Willis is the Man.

Without a Man, we are just a hole waiting to get plugged.

Let me introduce you to Cuttino Mobley, one of the few players in the NBA with a no pass clause in his contract. He played 53 minutes and had ZERO assists in the entire ball game. That's damn hard to do for a guard.

Without Willis the rockets would be in deep trouble. So he made a few mistakes. Overall, he is doing a fine job. I am sick about the game. We were right there, just one good shot, just one! Didn't happen and we are all real disappointed. But, on the bright side, we played the World Champs virtually even. It was an exciting and entertaining game. The team gave it their all. The only thing left was a win. After the San Antonio and Laker games, I am more encouraged than ever. I didn't think we could play with the big boys, but maybe we can.

Good point It seemed at times Mobley was trying to make it a mini battle between himself and Kobe and he forced it a couple of times and missed wide open teammates.

I guess Mobley and Francis really stink too since Willis had more points per min than any other Rocket. Hell our whole team stinks. You make no sense....

All this bashing on our own players!!! We fought our hearts out! Ya, we didn't win, but why don't you ever look at the bright side? Like our free throw shooting? Our defense that held the Lakers under their NBA best avg? And then you nag that other newspapers and websites don't give the Rockets respect? Enuf said.

P.S.-Timing- Did it ever occur to you that Mobley might not have played today at all??

I'm not blaming anyone for the loss but it is a fact that Mobley played 53 minutes and didn't pick up a single assist. If he was healthy enough to jack up 26 shots then I think he was healthy enough to get an assist. Even Kevin Willis got an assist and he didn't play 53 minutes nor is he a guard.

I think he would have had an assist if people would hit shots after passes.

This whole thread is complete bullsh!t and makes no relavent sense whatsoever. Using the word Willis and stinks in the same sentece should not even be brought up. The guy has more heart and soul than 3,000 Cato's.

We all know what he can do. Stats dont lie. Willis plays balls to the wall every minute of every game, and you CAN'T convince me otherwise period.

All I have to say is dont EVER dog on Big Kev.

They scored 97 points, not 47.

Its funny last people would have said Cat was a ballhog and did not pass the ball or should have or could have.
Now this year he does what all fans want him to do and thats share the ball and you gripe about that.

Cat did the right thing he passed to a pretty much open man it was a mistake pass I think in willis mind cat was gonna go all the way I blame lack of communication on both parts.

Willis played like a stud tonight Give all the rockets props their are team their still young....Things could be worse we could be the Utah Jazz......:p

0 assists in 53 minutes is not passing the ball (accuratly)enough.

Until we have another option (EG?), I'd go with Willis.

Um, in the overall scheme of things, isn't the lack of offense still a concern? Yet again, the Rocks didn't break 100, even with overtime.

Note that I didn't see the game -- was the defense outstanding again (mind you, Shaq is intimidating), or were the Rockets unable to hit anything from outside?

Every player shot bad. How about (another) Williams stinks thread. How about a Mobley's assist capability stinks thread. How about the 5 millionth Cato sucks thread? How about that Samaki Walker, 7-9. Who was guarding that perrenial allstar?

Willis played solid against one of the best centers of all time. He's going to get some open 15 foot shots and he can hit those with regularity. That shouldn't be the first or second option in the offense, but consistantly throwing up 3 pointers (3-18) doesn't make a whole lot of sense either.

Fact is these guys are not hitting any shots with regularity, so putting it all on Willis doesn't make sense, he should start over that worthless Cato.

It's funny how very one can find something to b***h about when they lose! Well, I hear to say, get off the band wagon if you can stand the losses. This team was playing over their means last night, and I was proud of them with the effort. Yes, it will be nights were nothing go right, and then there are nights where everything go right. The Rox is trying to find itself, with all the new additions. I knew that those injuries in training camp was going to hurt them as far as learning each other. Rice is just now getting his leggs, and right now is under used for scoring. Willis, didn't have a training camp with the Rox, and only came over after the trade, so did know how to play with Cat and Francis? EG,Torres is trying to find their role on the team. Tmo,Brown just trying to get off the bench to help. Yes, maybe Cato, KT,Wiz could have done better, but this a young team and only can get better with age and playing together. I still say, they are a playoff team, and this team will be alot team nightmare. I say let rally behind them with support, and look how they improve from night to night! ;)

Hey sorry guys but at least Willis busted his butt out there during the game! Geez, it seemed like everytime CATO would defend Shaq did you see him what looks like taking a step away and allowing Shaq a shot at the basket? That pissed me off! He should have taken some lessons from Willis and toughed it out and make SHAQ work it out! At least EG didn't wimp out on Shaq either! I am still a Willis and Rocket fan no matter how crappy some of you guys who have jumped off the Willis bandwagon just because he had a TOUGH game against Shaq! I am PROUD of our boyz!

Willis played well. I do hope Rudy talks to him about those hideous jumpers, though.

I'm pretty much in agreement with most on the board...how many times did we have to sit and watch Willis not grab on the rebound.
