You don't believe he has the skill set and physical attributes right now to be successful in the NBA?
He does but that doesn’t mean he will be wildly successful. Most “nba ready” college players fail. And most of the current superstars were not touted as “nba ready” at the time of their draft.
I think Zion will be a very good pro player, easily a 5-10-time All-Star if he stays healthy and dedicated. He obviously should be the #1 pick in the draft. However, his size and game are not a great fit for today's NBA. So no, I don't see him coming anywhere close to being an all-time great.
Celebrities have flocked to see Duke's 18-year-old superstar, Zion Williamson — here's why he's been dubbed one of the 'most impressive' collegiate prospects ever If you aren't already familiar with Zion Williamson, now is the time. With March Madness kicking off on Thursday, perhaps no player will receive as much attention as the 18-year-old Duke star trying to lead the Blue Devils to the national title. Williamson's fame has exploded in his freshman year at Duke. A high-school basketball star, Williamson has risen to a new level this year, thanks to his jaw-dropping athleticism and highlight-reel dunks. He's considered one of the best college basketball prospects ever, and he's the consensus No. 1 pick in the NBA draft this June. ESPN's draft expert Mike Schmitz described Williamson as "far and away the most impressive collegiate prospect I've ever evaluated." https://amp.businessinsider.com/zion-williamson-duke-star-nba-2019-3
"Ceiling is Charles Barkley" "Just Stats" Etc.... I'm thinking some of yall didn't watch the video...
He will drop 15-20 lbs in the NBA. When he does that....He could be a Karl Malone, Or Barkley, Or Larry Johnson. I don't see him as a LeBron-type..yet. I think a Bigger Barkley...with more range and better handles is a good comparison.
It's getting tougher and tougher. He'd have to take on Wilt's, MJ's, Kobe's, Harden's, and Danuel House's records first.
Also, I wish OP would have left the name 'Zion' out of the thread title. Becomes a much better discussion imo.
if he actually develops a decent outside shot, with his athleticism, he will be unstoppable like Shaq
He's shooting 31% from 3 point range -- it's a little awkward looking, but he's really just started taking them. His shot reminds me of Sam Perkins.
