I just want a Lakers vs Cavs FINAL and watch LEBRON beat Kobe for the championship so everybody can SHUTUP about comparing Kobe to MJ! I think Lebron has a real chance of matching MJ status by time he's done.
Kobe has won enough rings (granted he needed Shaq for them); I don't even want him to have the opportunity to get another. Here's hoping he and his team don't even reach the Finals.
Nope, I thought I could be impartial... but I found myself wanting to slap the ***** out of the Lakers fans who were cheering at BW3 tonight. If there were any justice in the world, every time a Laker fan opened his/her mouth, a large turd would fall from the heavens and lodge itself inside said mouth.
I would love to see the Lakers go to the Finals, than get blasted by King James and the Cavs in 4 games. And King James owning the rapist. =)
Billups overrated? Honestly, 100% don't care. If the Jazz were still in it then i'd be rooting for their opponent. Since not, i'm just rooting for great series and great games like the first game earlier tonight.
I like to see lakers not make it cause 1. the lakers fans i know are gloating big time 2. see their team never get there because they got rid of super hero Robert Horry
I really hate both teams. They both come off as a bunch of arrogant, cocky, ball players. Since I have to pick one, im going to pull for the nuggets for two reasons. One, because after a long series with them, I cant possibly bring myself to cheer for anyone on the lakers. Two, because at least with the nuggets, theres a few guys I actually am fans of (billups, nene, and melo). But I do hate everyone else on their roster including george karl from his seattle days.
r u freakin kidding me? im orlando all the way. first rafer is leading that team and they also hav rashard lewis alief elsik alum and then theres dwight howard. everyone knows yao owns him. we couldve beaten orlando handedly cleveland we could beat in 6 with a healthy yao. i think a more intriguing question is if la and jazz r playing (after this fukd dirty series) who would u root for? i mite lean towards the jazz now. yeah i fi ally found a team i hate more than the jazz...
I was rooting for Kenyon Martin tonight. The guy is consistently one of my top 10 hated players but not when he is playing against Kobe.
I'd like to see Lebron show Kobe how to carry an entire roster of scrubs on his back and win a championship. hell, they've both been to the Finals now and had a shot at it, neither of them have closed the deal yet. if one of them is going to clinch, I'd rather see LeBron start a new chapter in the NBA than a new Faker Dynasty built on Kobe and Pau. in other words, hellz naw I won't pull for the Lakers the Jazz, Mavs, and Lakers are never to be rooted for. EVER!
I was just going to make a thread like this after watching last nights game, i found my self pulling for the nuggets, I like them much better as a team but at the same time, if the Lakers just destory them (which it doesn't look like they will) that just makes the rockets look that much more impressive...i am going for the lakers, i just dont want them to win the championship.
You're missing the whole point of this thread. Unless you're going to be a high priced free agent in 2009-10, nobody cares what a Rockets fan thinks. What matters is do the free agents care so much about what the Rockets did this season that they would be convinced to join them? The answer is no.
I don't think the point of this thread was debating over what high priced free agents would possibly like to or could join the Rockets either but I'll play anyway.... If you think big name free agents won't join then you're wrong. Dead wrong. Houston has always had a rich history in either trading for big time/name players or acquiring free agents through sign n trade. History of some big names acquired via trade or snt: Drexler Barkley Pippen McGrady (essentially forced his way to Houston) Artest We acquired both Tmac and Artest after first round exits the previous season so it proves that either big name players want to come here or they don't mind it. Drexler was rumored to go to the Clippers time and time again for Danny Manning and he pretty much vetoed that and the Blazers obliged thank god. Pippen we got a sign and trade for Rogers and money or some other irrelevant crap. We might have reached to get Barkley but I think he genuinely enjoyed playing for the Rockets and it was a good situation for him. Now for the big time free Agents in summer 2009-2010 Unrestricted Free Agents: Joe Johnson Ray Allen Manu Ginobili Marcus Camby Tracey McGrady Shaquille O'Neal Brad Miller Stephen Jackson Jermaine O'Neal Mike Miller Rip Hamilton The next grouping is those players that are signed thru 2011, but can opt out in 2010 if they so choose: Yao Ming (owed 17.7 million in 10/11) Amare Stoudamire (owed 17.7 million in 10/11) LeBron James (owed 17.2 million in 10/11) Dwayne Wade (owed 17.0 million in 10/11) Chris Bosh (owed 17.1 million in 10/11) Dirk Nowitzki (owed $21.5 million in 10/11) Josh Howard (owed $11.8 million in 10/11) Mike Redd (owed $18.3 million in 10/11) Tyson Chandler (owed $12.8 million in 10/11) Okay so out of those 2 lists. We already have 2 of those soon to be big time FA's on our team. From the first list how many players do you really want out of that group? I can think of 4... 5 tops. Now out of that second list our main goal is to obviously re-sign Yao. Next depending on what we do with Mcgrady we either play him and he performs at a high level and we sign him to a reasonable contract and we're hopefully under the cap or we let him walk and go after someone else or trade him for another impact player. If we got to the brink of the WCF without Mcgrady majority of season and Yao missing key games I'm inclined to believe that FA's would like to sign here considering the city, organization, tradition etc. Worrying about big time Free Agents coming here should be the least of our worries because one way or another we always get big time players what we need to worry about is things like what to do with OUR big time upcoming FA's and keeping players healthy etc.
That's what I feel, I want the Lakers to win the ring and then come into next year thinking, geez, that Houston team without Yao AND t-mac gave us our biggest challenge, now we have to face them with both!
