To be honest, I've never seen Bosh play, other than a few highlights. I must have missed when Rockets played Raps. I am, however, optimistic about the fact that we are not getting him. I left a nice pitch, that hell if that didn't get him nothing will, on the "leave a love letter for Chris Bosh" thread. I also concur that he would be grossly overpaid, and it's tough because it's somebody Morey is going after and he's no Dawson. (Sorry CD).

I like the our group. Everytime I saw trade proposals it had J. Hill and Scola in it I didn't want to give those guys up. I think that is a hell of a tandem at PF for a bargain.(well, we'll see how much LS signs for). Also, we picked up Patterson in the draft, so I believe we'll probably see something to the effect of Scola, Patt at 4 with Yao being backed up by FA possibly or J. Hill sliding back and forth.

I can't believe people were so ready to unload J. Hill. This guy is gonna play for a long time and he's only going to get better. He didn't start playing ball till late in life so the mileage on his legs is limited. He showed improvement last year towards the end and I would like to see him build on that.

I hear nothing but good things about Patterson, Bud is still improving and promising, and Taylor looks to make some noise once they tweak him a little more. I would not be upset at all if we stand pat. Another year of experience, another year of chemistry, we will go to playoffs next year. We have a hell of a group.

There's another move, we're overloaded in the frontcourt right now. I would be blown out of my seat if we don't do a 3-1 or 4-2.

    (Yao) (Miller) Andersen Hayes
    (Scola) Patterson Hill Jeffries Johnson
    Ariza Battier Chase
    Martin Taylor
    Brooks (Lowry)

    Yes I would!!!! :p
Hope Morey can give the team an uplift of not only signing Miller
but get us another TALL , Young, ATHLETIC player with ability.
However this should be done without destroying any part of our core.
Must keep Yao, AB, Ariz, Hill, Budinger, Scola, Patterson,Martin and Taylor. :p

Do you believe that by being pessimistic the Rockets will succeed? Or what's the strategy here.

Sports aren't instant gratification unless you're an LA fan.

    Not at all.

Last season the Rockets went for a great trade. Martin, Hill, and Jeffries which all can help the Rockets next season. Getting into the S&T talk was just gravy for a super savy GM - Morey.

Yao / Miller / Hayes (solid defense) / Anderson
Scola / Hill / Jeffries (solid defense) / Patterson
Ariza / Battier (both have solid defense)
    Martin / Budinger / Taylor
    Brooks / Lowry

I like that group!!! If the group can gel and stay healthy, they can legitimately challenge for a title.

If we get Brad Miller and do nothing else I will be very very happy.

Somewhat. We have a small window to make a serious playoff run with Yao in place. We need to make one serious upgrade to be a legit championship contender. So if it doesn't happen, I will be disappointed.

At the same time, I understand these moves aren't easy and I won't blame Morey if we don't make a bigger signing. You can't make deals just to make them, especially bad ones. And you can only get what the market offers you. In this case there's a glut of top power forwards, not necessarily our biggest need and thus won't be a dramatic improvement (except for Bosh, who I believe would have made himself and Yao a lot better by teaming up with each other.)

To a degree. I wanted Brad Miller in addition to Bosh.

I still want Brad Miller, but we need to go after far younger and more talented pieces right now. Al Jefferson or David Lee negotiations need to spark with immediacy. We have valuable assets, but we also don't have enough talent to get beyond Los Angeles as we sit.

If I could take--right now--a healthy Yao Ming for the entire season and the addition of no one else but Brad Miller ...

... baby, I'll take it and run with it.

No,but I don't want the MLE thrown at him. The Bi-annual exception is fine with me.
