Not counting this year I believe Yao only has 2 years left---that is, if the Rockets pick up his 4th year option. Assuming the Rockets take the option, that would mean Yao has 2 more years on his contract. Personally, I believe if things look bleak for Yao here in Houston, he will leave when his contract is up, meaning if Houston is not in a position to win it all, and/or if he is not satisfied with his supporting cast. I think its safe to assume that he will be THE man by the time he's in his last year of his rookie contract.
What kind of language is this we're speaking when "resign" and "resign" mean two totally different things? What the hell was Robert English thinking when he came up with this strange form of communication??
Good point. Techinically, "to sign again" is "re-sign", with the hyphen in between, whereas "resign" is only reserved for "to give up/to quit", etc. People forget the hyphen often, but because of context, there's usually not that much confusion.
I, for one, is pissed that Yao is still averaging 9 shots a game, the same number of shots he attempted last season. That's rediculous for anybody shotting 57%+ and being the second best center in the leauge, no matter how you slice it. Yao is tired; Yao doesn't have good position; our shooters are hot; Yao in foul trouble. What I see is when Yao does get position of come off pick and roll, he rarely get the ball. If we want to be championship-caliber team, we need to play inside-out and low-post game consistently night in and night out. And we need to play like that right now, not next season! JVG needs to stop playing mind games with Yao. Yao's development needs to be put on a fast track, instead of JVG playing "wait for him to demand the ball" game. Does he honestly think guards will give up the ball without being yelled at? Give me a break!
whats up with all those stupid threads? I don“t learn anything anymore! Is it rough time for u guys or what?.....this used to be a place to relax and read good stuff about b-ball, no it just plain out ****!
Yao is here to contribute to the team and he doesn't seem like a person who would run off because he only scores 16 pts a game. He is a team driven player and works well with his team. Yao has been getting alot more touches this season and you can't expect him to touch the ball in every offensive play, remember opposing teams are now focusing their defense on Yao. I think Steve and Cat are doing a great job passing the ball. Steve isn't going to throw the ball to Yao if he isn't open or in position. Yao needs to learn how to get in position on the offensive end and I think he will do so as the season progresses.
Are you actually going to believe what JVG said to the media? He also said the responsibility of under-achieving Rockets should be on the players shoulder, while it is getting more and more clear that it is mainly Rudy's fault. The Rockets core group are the same, but Rockets are playing at a totally different intensity, especially defensively. JVG made Boki showing potential, made Cato the starting PF, made Francis playing defense, and Taylor rebounding. That's what a good NBA coach is supposed to do. JVG did it. Rudy didn't. Now I just need to see Moochie benched, and Rockets stop playing ISO ball offensively.
What I'm wondering is what will the lakers do when Kobe bolts, Malone and Payton retire and Shaq gets older and older?
