If Yao can get some rest in the off season, I would say yes.
OR he fakes a injury next season for a few weeks or a month to rest, that'll work too.

Yao has been a monster on the boards lately, with a 21 and an 18 board game in the past five days. He is only five boards under averaging 10 a night and if he is able to play an entire season without pain, he may very well average 12 a game.

Of those players who play more than 30 mins/game, Yao is now 8th in rb/48 mins.

    The top ten is:

    Camby
    Dwight Howard
    Ben Wallace
    Duncan
    Jamaal Magloire
    Samuel Dalembert
    KG
    Yao
    Okafor
    Marion

He has just 0.5 rebound per 48 mins less than KG.

Yao is too classy to do that. It's WC not Asian cup we are talking about. Sigh... :(

12+ is too much. I'd love to see it but that's a crazy amount of rebounds. Even Shaq had trouble doing it year in and year out. Yao is a lot less moblie. Height isn't nearly as important to rebounding as mobility, positioning, and just flat out desire for the ball. Hopefully, Yao proves me wrong.
