For the record, I never wanted to do that. I defended springers leadoff position. All my posts reflect that. Also defended a ton of hinch's controversial moves. I'm usually accused of being a homer here. I'm not a chicken with his head cut off. It's rare and uncharted territory for me to disagree with the astros decision making. I would strongly consider taking reddick out. Even if you start him, I would heavily consider taking him out if he looks that terrible again after an AB or 2.
Springer, Bregman, Altuve, Correa, Yuli, Marwin, McCann, Maybin. Roll the dice. I love Reddick, but Maybin is almost as good defensively, can run the bases, and has had some clutch at bats for us. Give the guy a shot. Reddick is cold. I will happily eat crow if Reddick can come up big for us.
I will be watching the game muted because of this. I've done it for a few playoff games this season, and it hasn't been bad. Fox's pre- and post-game team is great, but their in-game everything is godawful.
warming up to reddick again. Just looked so bad on a couple of the ABs. He did work a walk in the inning that we had a chance where gattis almost double played and tuve didn't have the AB we needed with RISP.
Good idea, but I do like the crowd noise. Regardless of what happens, this has been the best WS I have ever seen.
Yes, Astros in 7, didn't need to be private vote This series is just crazy though. I expect Houston to get some offense going tomorrow and close it.
secret weapon just the other day in a couple of innings in lance's start a family member (true lifelong mlb fan) texted me asking, "is it possible that lance is the best pitcher they have going for this series?" Obviously gotta go with Verlander as the very best on our staff, but I wouldn't put it past Lance to put up a gem here. His stuff has been electrifying when he's on lately.
I just don't know. I feel completely on the fence and can't even make a prediction in either direction. I believe in Lance. I like his "Give me the ball; I'll make it happen somehow" attitude. He's matured a lot through a season of ups and downs for him, and that seems to be blossoming recently. But we have to score a run. Or maybe two or more. And I don't know what will happen there. We can throw every starter we can out there, but we have to score runs. I guess we'll see tomorrow.
Yeah, I hate this crap story. Yu didn't even care that much about it and was surprised it was a big story. I hope Yuli hits a big 2-3 run bomb that decides the game ultimately, that would just be perfect.
I really don't want the game to be close. Blowout loss or blowout win. Unless you're a neutral fan, this hasn't been fun at all.
