Say what you want about Ahmadinejad, but the guy is popular and not just in Iran:

IRAN'S President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received a rock-star reception yesterday from students at Indonesia's national university.

This is in addition to his popularity in places like Lebanon and Egypt, which is evident by all the pictures of him in Beirut and Cairo

I don't see the same statements coming from Washington

i like how you didnt comment on the second article....it wouldnt look real good for a war mongerer like yourself to admit that iran is willing to negotiate with anybody and the us is unwilling to negotiate with iran

sigh. it's warmonger to you, my friend. one word, no extra -er.

of course, i've already stated that we should open up with Iran - not go to war. but i don't expect much from glynch-lite.

but then again, these stories are AP stories - and as you 'educated us' previously cannot be trusted since they are obviously poor translations. er, or perhaps when the news reported by AP is something you LIKE its a good translation and when its something you DON'T its a bad translation. strange how it works out that way.

i like how you take one of my statements and blow it out of proportion...i was referring to a specific term ('supreme leader') when discussing a poor and incorrect translation...there are also bad translations in ahmadinejad's letter to bush as others have pointed as well....none of this relates to the multiple statements coming out of Tehran demonstrating their willingness to compromise and negotiate with american directly while the US has been saber rattling...i've read your constant iran bashing but never any criticism of us policy towards iran....maybe if you would stop attacking me and calling me names and stick to the issues, you'd have a better understaing of the situation

No, it has to do with your moving criteria about which sources are ok to use and which aren't. You previously castigate the AP then used the AP. Your criticism conveinently falls to the 'bias' argument with articles you don't agree with and to the 'ok to use' side when you do agree. Is that just coincidence?

Hmmm....'never' is a bad word choice, but bushy eyebrow mullah lovers go to extremes sometimes - I already said thought using nukes was out of the question, going to war would be a mistake, and contructive engagement (the relative opposite of the current administration's policy) the best way to go. I'm at a lost to explain how that fits your description of my opinion, lol.

Hmmmm, I replied to your article and made NO reference to you at all. Then you reply call me a warmongerer, lol. So I don't 'attack' you or call you names, you 'attack' me and call me names - and then you accuse me of doing what you've just done. Nice.

Everything you've said above is false...Everything I've ever said is based on facts and I haven't seen anything I've said disproven...I think you're still in shock that somebody challenged your preconceived notions about Iran with facts and evidence as oppossed to your empty rhetoric and proved your wrong.

What does 'I already said thought mean?' lol

Wow you're so progressive for not advocating the use of nukes against Iran's nuclear facilities.

No name calling huh? You claim that you don't engage in this tactic, but it seems like this is all you do (see your middle paragraph for a representative example.) Just another example of you lying. Again, I ask you in a civilized tone, please stick to the issues.

Alrighty then. Keep living in your little insulated world.

You're easily amused. 'I already said I thought...' You're more dense than I thought. btw: if you're going to correct MY typo you might want to put the second ' in the right place. :)

Well, that's me - me and the Mullahs are progressive that way. I notice there is no retraction - you claimed I always was critical of Iran and never of US policy - you were proven wrong and yet I see no apology.

Lol. I never said I didn't ever engage in name calling. I said in my post today in response to your articles - I didn't even address you - and you started in with the name calling. I guess you're a liar since you claim you only do it in response. Liar, liar woo hoo. You are consistent - I'll give you that. You let the assertions fly and then just coast. That's fine - but soon no one will take you seriously, if anyone still does now.

I challenge you to disprove anything that I've said about Iran.

You're the one that got off on my misspelling earlier

You asked me for evidence regarding progressive measures, I gave you the studies on the government inititated fertility reduction and population control programs. Not to mention all the other mounds of evidence that I've provided regarding the improvements that have taken place since the Revolution

What does 'we proven wrong' mean? :)

Well at least you acknowledge that you call people names, so I guess in that sense you aren't a liar. However, if we go back to the origins of your personal attacks against me, we will clearly see that you're the one that initiated the name calling. Moreover, nobody has to take me seriously, but everything I've said about Iran is true or else I wouldn't say it.

One last thing, will you please stop name calling and stick to the issues?

You said no one could stop Iran from their nuclear aspirations. The US or Russia or a host of other countries could flatten the whole country from border to border with nuclear missles. That would stop their nuclear program.

Gee, that was easy. Have a nice day.

So you consider this a fine and rational statement, by you?

And after reading that, we should take you seriously? Why?

    Keep D&D Civil.

Glad to see you're staying within the bounds of rational thought....lol

Can you please answer this question:

Will you stop name calling and stick to the issues instead?

First, you've betrayed your saying on keeping 'D&D Civil' many times.

Second, that is my opinion, which is why I used the words: I think.

Third, I do think that there is some truth to that statement.

Fourth, nobody has to take me seriously, but everything I've said about Iran is true or else I wouldn't say it (that statement you're referring to wasn't about Iran, it was about some of the posters on here).

Last, I again challenge anybody, who is willing to say within the real of rational thought, to disprove anything that I've said about Iran

You did say that the letter that Iran sent to the U.S. offered compromises. That was not true.

At the time it wasn't and the title of the article I posted suggests that same thing.
