Onanism is the word you were looking for. ...assuming you were referring to a date with Mrs Palm and her five.

Vanity Fair: “I HATE EVERYONE IN THE WHITE HOUSE!”: TRUMP SEETHES AS ADVISERS FEAR Even before Corker’s remarks, some West Wing advisers were worried that Trump’s behavior could cause the Cabinet to take extraordinary Constitutional measures to remove him from office. Several months ago, according to two sources with knowledge of the conversation, former chief strategist Steve Bannon told Trump that the risk to his presidency wasn’t impeachment, but the 25th Amendment—the provision by which a majority of the Cabinet can vote to remove the president. When Bannon mentioned the 25th Amendment, Trump said, “What’s that?” According to a source, Bannon has told people he thinks Trump has only a 30 percent chance of making it the full term.
As much as I would rather see Pence become president over Trump, this is a sure way to piss off a lot of people. If Trump is to be removed, it needs to be done in a proper way, not taking advantage of a law that was not meant to be in such a manner.
I actually agree with you, that barring a legitimately impeachable act, he should carry out his term in the spirit of a democratic society and it's real consequences for not voting. The catch here is that it's not the opposition overthrowing Trump, but rather the subordinates he hand picked and worked the most in his capacity as president. Nutters and Bannonites will want to proclaim "deep state" or some kind of reichstag justification for violence or uprising, but is not the left that would be at fault...
Exactly. If Trump is gone early, how it happens is just as important as the fact he's gone. Turning him into a martyr for a large number of people would be a disaster for this country.
A populist martyr who is actually a billionaire kleptocrat. This is what happens when people don't like to read and defund public education.
The 25th amendment wasn’t meant for this type of use I agree. Even though Trump is mentally unfit, it wasn’t meant for this type of use. It’s meant for a case where the president is in a coma or something like that. We have a proper way of removing Trump and that’s impeachment starting from the House leader and executed by the Senate majority leader getting 2/3 vote. However if there is a situation where the cabinet (Kelly, Mattis, Pence, etc) all feel like they know he’s about to launch a nuke, or do something truly detrimental to the country it’s there as a way to move quicker if they have to and then I’m sure it will be leaked out about why they did it and only the Trump cult would be outraged but in the end those cabinet members have to act in the best interest of the country as a whole. Not just worry about Trumps base like Paul Ryan obviously is (or he’s worried about losing funding from the Mercer’s who are still Trump fans and major donors). I certainly think there are impeachable acts he’s committed starting on day 1 that if there were a Dem House he’d either be forced to clean up his act or would be impeached. Paul Ryan has either turned a blind eye or actively supported Trump being able to profit off the presidency, etc. which he wouldn’t have been able to do with a Dem house. He’s already gotten away with so much that it’s hard to see many scenarios in which Paul Ryan will actually do his job. IMO the most important thing that can happen is to have the Dems take back the House in 18. Not so they can immediately remove him like folks on the right think us liberals want. It’s to restore some sort of governance over the presidency that doesn’t exist now. I personally prefer to beat him fair and square in 20. You impeach him or remove him early with the 25th and he becomes some sort of messiah figure with his nutcase fan base.
Section 4 seems to be for that purpose (unfit). If the 25th amendment is exercised, we are already in deep deep sh*t. Not only has the cabinet turned against Trump, they think they have support from 2/3 of both houses. Yet even so, it seemed to be flawed from what I read. Trump can resume power, then can fire enough of his cabinet to maintain it. Would be a clear desperate move.
Seems like a better scenario than the horrible presidency we're currently witnessing, with a lunatic sending out tweets threatening to nuke entire countries.
As far as impeaching Trump and removing him from office... If he's done something that warrants that, then it should be done regardless of what his supporters will do or say. It is best to present so much evidence that fewer folks will react radically, but it is most important to do the right thing. Once that is done, you deal with the reaction and consequences whatever they are. But the first step is to do the right thing no matter what the reaction will be. We haven't seen the evidence that would lead to his removal from office at this point so until that is presented we can just wait.
Impeachment is a political process. Seeing that the special counsel Robert Mueller is digging deep and that Trump views himself above the law, a criminal conviction may be a more likely outcome. One has to wonder if Trump gets sent to jail that Fox News would report that as Trump taking a much needed vacation.
