My thought is that if other players can fit in , why can't Tmac. Considering how talented and unselfish he is, it shouldn't be a problem.

What does he base that claim on. If T-Mac said it wont work and wont give the offense an honost shot, then he wont be here much longer. Adelman goes to Morey and tells him that T-Mac isnt willing to be a team player and says get r done, then Morey tells Les. Then they get a deal done.

I think maybe BlinDbury is using the rumormill as evidence to support that they are trying to offload him because he wont play nice with others.

He is starting with the conclusion and working his way back thru a series of "what makes sense for this conclusion" events.

I read that too. Maybe that opinion has changed since he's had to watch the team survive without him. I guess we'll find out when he comes back. In my opinion his opinion of the system will show more when the circumstances on the court look dire or when we're going back and forth with a team. The great teams run their system during the good times and the bad.

    I say: KEEP T-MAC

    1) McGrady > Head at SG
    2) He gives us a "go to" guy at the end of the game
    3) He is a great passer and has the ability to get other guys involved
    4) Not gonna get equal trade value if we ship him off

Give the guy a chance! :p

Maybe him being out for so long forced the other guys to step up and gain their confidence.

Hopefully, the other role players will continue with their good play.

Yall can't be serious if you say, "We're better off without him"

    Remember "13 in 35" ;)

    I hope so?

Make that definitely. The question is how much better. Are we going back to watching one guy go to work on every play, sneaking out wins in the last minute against good teams? Or are we going to see 5 people taking turns attacking and start putting teams away like dominant teams do.

I don't remember his days in Toronto, but Tmac has had to shoulder the burden in Orlando and Houston, up until now. He's played one way for the majority of his career. Hopefully he can adjust w/ a new mindset. It won't happen in one quarter, or one game. So I'd say give him at least a few games to show an effort at making that turn.

Except he's not saying "It's been reported that..." or "It's rumored that...". He just comes right out and says that T-Mac has told some people he doesn't think the offense can work. That sounds to me like he knows that without a doubt.

If this is true there's another question that comes to mind. What do you do if T-Mac won't play team ball? Do you bench him?

Without a question TMAC will make this team better.

Keep in mind our last 4 wins are against sub par teams, New York, Washington, Knicks again, and a Orlando game where we barely escaped.

Even in wins for the past few games, Yao and Rafer had to carry the load scoring wise. What happens when Yao is cold or forced to sit because of foul trouble, or doubled at all times? He is not going to face Eddie Curry every night. What if Rafer decide to go on another of his "can't hit the side of a barn" shooting streak?

Bonzi has been questionable at best, plus he has problem of blowing layups, missing free throws, and settling for jump shots.

Thats why we still need TMAC, if anything else to help carry the load when Yao is not in the game.

What the Rockets need is a player who's willing to commit to the system, who's willing to do what every other freaking player on the team is doing and play team ball.

I guess we'll see what happens when T-Mac gets back. But if, and I have no idea if this will actually be the case, if he refuses to opt into the system then I could definitely envision a trade happening before the February deadline. There's just way too many rumors from too many individual sources floating around in the mainstream media.

the all matter is What he want?
He is so talented on basketball, if he want , he can do it and do very well in any system.

Tmac need presure. I mean: result to a 13 points in 35s, not that lower percent jump shots when his girl friend/wife yell at him.

So I belive he will prove he can do it. (the question is how long?)

I want to Tmac to do:
    1. FT over 80%.
    2. be a runing SF/SG, not a PG, So he can do some Alley oop for us.
    3. Do D, Do hard D.

There is some truth in your statement, but after you watched the last couple games, don't you think that the ball movement and the overall play of Rockets has been better recently?

Really tho. Its really amazing that the rox went 22-12 without yao and not 1 thread was posted about the team being better. I think its crazy to even ask the question.

People tend to question tracy's heart and whatever, but uts really unfair.I guess a guy has to pump his fist or chest bump to shiw heart. Its like the injury prone label attached. This is t-macs 4th yr with the rox and during that time, he and yao have played in 221 games. Why is 1 player called injury prine and the other isn't ?

Forget all this easy schedule crap because we had T-mac and we lost to toronto, phila, memphis, the sacramento kings etc. At this time we were playing terrible,we were struggling to score,it was like pulling frickin teeth. We are beating these same horrible teams now but the play is different, there is ball movemnet, player movement and guys are playing hard and together. Night and Day

If TMac midrange game is on point, tha bleague can give us a trophy right now. I don't want him to be perimeter player anymore. I want him takin midrange shots most of tha time.

Tmac was out for a couple of games for his elbow injury, did we play well in those games? How was the ball movement? He was also out after the first knee injury, did everybody else play better without him?

As the member above me said, the ball movement and play was not the same during T-Mac's elbow injury as it is now. They didn't play horribly, but they weren't running Adelman's offense like they are now. And again, the last 2 games T-Mac started and finished a game they beat Detroit and had theirbest offensive output of the season in the win against Chicago.
