Higher percentage is higher percentage regardless how you do it. If Lebron is more athletic and can use that advantage to shoot near 60% than he's better. KD doesn't get bonus points for difficulty. Lebron is the MVP and it's his to lose.

actually KD is the favourite and has been most of the season

they are 2 different players anyway, LeBron scores more in the post, so his percentage should be higher

I sure hope he does. As someone who grew up in the empty state of Montana that has little chance to see NBA games, I feel like I deserve the right to brag when something cool happens to me. So anyways, this happened yesterday.

I'm the drunk one with the big nose, stupid face, and Montana sweatshirt. Durant is the nice man in the Thunder shirt. Oh and I'm not 6'9. I'm standing on a ledge.

Well, the only guy that could stop him has come back from injury . Unless they find a way to turn Russ into a Gamma male over night or double his IQ, KD might actually not win it, even though he was the clear favorite by a mile just earlier this month.

NBA fans are spoiled to have 2 such dominant players at small forward anyway

If you want to compare the stats, then compare the stats. LeBron has put up superior numbers all year and it is not even close.

Durant is having an excellent year, the best of his career. It still is not even close to what LeBron has done this year or the past several years.

LeBron is in a level of his own statistically. He is by far and away the best player in the game right now.

For MVP, I usually look at a combination of PER and Win shares and KD still has a slight lead in both but Lebron is closing in FAST. Lebron made up like .7 PER points with one game last night and is basically tied with Durant at this point (30.44 vs. 30.37). Unreal.

LeBron is just scoring like Durant did in January when Durant went on that monster tear.

    actually Durant hasn't stopped

LeBron is just getting going now scoring wise and it has nothing to do with past seasons, the MVP is all about this season.

    just for argument sake
lets see who leads each statistical stat
    PPG Durant
    RPG Durant
    APG LeBron
    SPG Even
    BPG Durant
    FG LeBron
    three point percentage Durant
Turnovers Durant(3.6 to 3.5) LeBron wins this cat obviously
    PER Durant(very close though)
    Value Added Durant
    Estimated Wins added Durant

that would be 7-3 Durant's way in the major categories, if LeBron fans want to hype it then it is fine but Durant needs to slow down before LeBron can overtake him.

Whether or not it should be higher is irrevelant. The only thing that's relevant is who does a better job of putting the ball in the basket, and that's LeBron.

not sure if being srs brah KD is still the front runner. Might as well put Melo in there since he scored 60+ as well.

To be fair to all of those people you quoted, at the time of when they posted those, a lot of those were valid. Hell, you don't even see the word "over" in any of those posts.

If you consider the fact that Durant didnt have Westbrook, faces tougher conference and teams then Miami, I'd give KD the MVP.
