too many bad news lately and lets find out what the fans feel about the remaining part of this season.
No. As much as Yao is doing to help his team, w/o TMAC, we are no competition against top tier teams. Consider this season OVER.
Whether or not the Rox can make it to the P.O. is not the main issue here. If they continue to play with hearts they will get valuable experience through the process, in particular the young players. That will pave the way for a championship contending team next year when we have a healthy TMac. I voted "yes" because it is a win-win situation - if they got the P.O. so much the better if not they will definitely grow much stronger for the next season. Go Rockets.
Don't know about you guys but I havn't given up on the Rockets reaching the playoffs yet. I am in Shanghai, China at present and I know that I will be watching Rockets playing Spurs at 4:30am on Monday morning. Plus, I will second what jkckwong said above. Go Rockets
lately we've been doing it without TMAC. Maybe its severe blind faith, but i think right now the Rockets minus TMAC are running on all cylinders. We have A solid Go-To person that isnt scared of double even triple teams that is forcing defenders to be honest. We have a lot of gritty young warriors, and hungry veterans that perfectly complement that threat. Almost reminds me of our championship teams. Im going to the Red Alert game WED and im going to yell my arse off. And i fully expect this team to win AND make the playoffs.
looking at the schedule, the next 2 month are totally different from last month, the opponents are tougher, and a 6 consecutive road trip. and now t-mac is out for 5 weeks
Wow! The results of this poll are very disappointing. I guess Houston is really filled with just a bunch of bandwagon fans. It's really a shame to listen to some of you guys. I swear I'm so glad that you don't actually play for the Rockets. In the last few weeks, this board was pumped up with the establishment of the RED ALERT. And now, with Tracy out for possibly 5 weeks, the tone of clutchfans is that of a bunch of losers. We're not losers here. We don't give up here. This is the town founded on the comeback. This is Clutch City. Hell, this site is supposed to be CLUTCH Fans. But the doomsaying on the board today is totally disgraceful. I have a feeling that JVG, Yao, and the rest of our squad don't feel sorry for themselves in the way that many of the supposed "fans" here do. I have a feeling that rather than wallow in the loss of T-Mac, our team is steady getting even more focused and determined. I for one believe in this team. Until it's truly is over, I'm gonna continue to root, support, and have faith that this team is gonna keep bringing it every game and keep playing well every game. Between JVG's intensity, Yao's dominance, the scrappiness and willingness of the rest of our guys, and 20 games left to shock the world, how can any of us possibly give up? Let's Go Rockets !!!
I say no, but not because of the reason listed on the poll. As hot as we are, we still haven't gained any ground on the Kings who are just as hot. The Lakers beat SA and Detroit last week. I don't think we're going to get any help from these 2 teams. My guess is that we'll end up #9 with LA at #7 and the Kings at #8.
We've been beating up on some mediocre teams, and even then the point differential isn't very high. The crucial question is whether we can end the season with a better record than the Lakers or the Kings, because the Kings will likely finish ahead of the Hornets.
The funny thing a few of you guys who voted 'No' actually have 'Yao' in your screennames. You guys surely have a special way to vote to show your confidence in your idol.
Very Unlikely. We have to play well over .500, against a tough schedule, without arguably our best player.
I was one of those who wanted us to, ahem, optimize our drafting position. This was back in December, when a great position was still achievable. Needless to say, the team didn't listen to me, and now it's too late. So we might as well gun for a playoff position, and that is how I voted.
When the Rockets make the playoffs this year, I hope all you "fans" who voted 'NO' will own up to jumping off the bandwagon as evidenced in this thread. Maybe you can atone by creating a new sig like: I didn't believe in Clutch City. I'm not a real Houston Rockets fan. I'm immortalized as a bandwagonner. Will the Rockets make it to the playoffs - Poll Results. My life is painful.
