that is wrong info. all channels have to be DIGITAL by 2007 or 2008. all HD = digital but not all digital = HD.
And ESPN HD requires paying even more to Time Warner. TNT HD is free if you have an HD box and their standard cable package.
For all of you with Time Warner, question about NBA TV HD on ch. 101. When they have HD games on do y'all notice that it looks worst than ESPN HD? Is there another channel that they broadcast their HD games on or am I missing the HD? We have a couple of games in HD against the Bulls and Kings later in the season. Also, as to Dallas having ALL of their games in HD (drooling angrily), I think alot has to do with Cuban but I also think that there are a lot more rich folk with HD tvs than Houstonians.
Right now Sammy 4092D Will got today to check out the Sony XBR2 46 its the best for high def, but people reported a clouding issue on dark scenes I got the Sammy like 3 weeks ago from CC just to check it out, I will return it today or tomorrow, thank god for the 30 day return policy, I will keep looking until I find the perfect TV set for me... ESPN HD has a fuzzy picture especially scenes from far away, close up its not that bad
The games on Channel 101 are in standard def. They have the same games in HD on Channel 298 and they look really good. Last week I caught a few minutes of the Grizzlies win at the Nuggets and about the only ugly thing in that broadcast was Denver's defense.
hmm wierd...i have a sony 50 plasma...to everybody that watches at my house they agree espn hd is better..for basketball games of course...
thats probably the difference between LCD's and Plasmas some, especially SD channels look better on Plasma I chose LCD because of the burn in issues with plasmas, and I can't afford that to happen, I do watch a bunch of SD channels which are 4:3, and while watching them on a 16:9 TV I get black lines on the left and right side which could lead to burn ins....
Ahh, 298... thanks. On the ESPN vs TNT arguement, I have a Sam 5687 and they both look sub par during basketball games compared to football games on ESPNHD. Go figure.
You must of bought your Sony Plasma a few years ago, cuz Sony hasn't been making Plasmas for a while now!
Same here - I have tried all kinds of settings and apparently there is no way to minimize the black lines - unless you stretch which then looks stupid. I have an LCD though so I am not too concerned about burn ins... Going back to FSN HD - if they are broadcasting HD in Dallas because they think that there are more "rich" people there with HD tv's thats just biased and not fair. If Cuban is paying them to broadcast then our owner should do the same -- take care of your fans whether its in the arena or at home..
I am 90% sure its by 2009, not 2008. I also dont think it necessarily mean High Definition, it just means that the signal will be digital. If you own an HDTV, you know what Im talking about. Its a digital signal but its not HD most of the time, for example the texans games. Does anyone know if ABC games will be in HD?
I think this comment is drastically overrated. HD rocks, and IMO if you think otherwise you're either a jealous cynic or you've been living under a rock and don't know what sports in HD really feels like. </flamebait>
Actually HD is Great. You can see a lot of subtle things you'll never seen on a SD TV. But yeah, you need to have the signal source first.
WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!??! I used to think that too, until I saw a game last year at my buddies place. Went and got me a system the next day. HIHIHIHIHI Don't you love instant gratification. Then I got married. Impluse buying days are over.
