I'd take Zach over LA, Love, M. Gasol and Dirk for the ASG. Z-bo's been beasting all year and his team has the best record. He's earned it.

Always, sure, but this year is going to be particularly wacky because Bynum is out and Granger is out, so we're going to see snubs in the West and a lot of...really pretty undeserving players...selected in the East. We're talking even worse than the Roy Hibbert and Joe Johnson selections.

Anyway, I think whether Kevin Love gets things together in the next 5 weeks is going to figure into whether Curry has an outside chance, and then the Jeremy Lin all star voting is surprisingly close now too. If Lin is (ugh) voted in as a starter, then everything shifts down a slot. The guys he'd be voted in over are (Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, James Harden) are all stars anyway, so it would effectively leave just one open slot on the team and not two. Would Curry get that spot in that case? Man, it's doubtful.

See this is why I even put that disclaimer in there. This doesn't have to do with our own opinions about who is more deserving and who is actually playing well. It seldom does. I know it's a great source of debate, and I totally agree with you, but all we're doing here is guessing who the coaches will add to the rosters. And they make some dumbass selections quite often, to be honest. They select based on things that shouldn't matter but do anyway, like the team's record and the player's reputation as a past all-star.

I'm no Lin fan boy but if he makes it I'm not complaining at all. If he gets in with the fans vote then it's for good reason because people want to see him play. Also, I wouldn't mind having 2 Rockets represent the Rockets in H-town. I wouldn't mind seeing Westbrick getting snubbed with the other guys if Lin takes his spot. Actually, I like that idea. I like it a lot.

It seems like it could definitely be a possibility right now. Did you see the thread on the new voting returns that just went up?

    Maybe

    Will be Voted Starters
    C Dwight Howard
    PF Blake Griffin
    SF Kevin Durant
    SG Kobe Bryant
    PG Chris Paul

    Reserves
    C Tim Duncan
    PF David Lee
    SF Zach Randolph
    SG James Harden
    PG Tony Parker

    PG Stephen Curry
    PG Russell Westbrook

They should take 6 guards because they are clearly more worthy than the frontcourt players this year. If they insist on 7 frontcourt players, Love Aldridge or Gay get in and Curry gets snubbed, although he is more deserving than Westbrook IMO

    Other Possible Candidates
PF Kevin Love (Injuries, mediocre record, still time left to get in)
    PF LaMarcus Aldridge
SF Rudy Gay (not as deserving as the guards
    SG OJ Mayo (Bad team)
