exactly. just like people crying about the red dawn remake. staples of our childhoods? yes. masterpieces? not even close.
That's kinda crazy.. pursuit of happiness was much more Will Smith than his son. Don't see the movie unless you want to.. but seems dumb to skip it because his son is a secondary character
what's so crazy, I have my position, the nepotism bothers me. the movie didn't look all that great to me anyway, and i think his son was a prevelant in the adverstising.
It was a great movie. If your only reason for not seeing it is his kid is the second actor, that IS crazy.
wow, dude its just a movie. but since you had to insult me, let me be clear, despite the reviews of people in this thread, the movie never looked that interesting to me anyway. not that i'm not into feel good movies, just never wanted to see it
Sorry if I insulted you which I didn't mean that. I have not watched the movie either but not because of Will Smith's kid is the second actor, but everyone has their own opinion.
its funny, the other day I was thinking they don't make these teen movies anymore as much, you have movies like high school musical i guess, but you don't see movies like teen wolf. or maybe i'm looking too much into it
Looks fun. I'll see it, more so for Chackie Chan and mentor/student aspects. I've enjoyed all of the Karate Kid movies. I see no reason why this won't be just as enjoyable, if not more because of Chan. And good grief folks. Critiquing a Karate Kid movie? So, tell me how Johnny Quest is doing....
There's tons of stuff I choose not to watch, or do for that matter, that doesn't make me narrow minded. Rather, it is a time decision. What can I do, what interests me, what do I have time to do, and go from there. Not watching something because there is nepotism involved, in this case, is likely "narrow minded". Perhaps there is some correlation between nepotism and the end product just not being good, though that doesn't seem to be the case. It's not an insult. Just a fact. By way of example, Gwyneth Paltrow has been in some solid movies, many of which have gone on the win awards (including one Best Picture Oscar), and you could argue her career is based off nepotism, ultimately. Now that I've butted my head in this argument , I think that 2nd trailer looks decent. I probably still won't see the movie, until at the earliest DVD release, but probably later then that, because of time constraints and desire to see other movies.
first of all, I actually wrote that I was interested and will take my son to see this movie. second of all, calling someone narrow minded or open minded, is not a "fact".
let me be clear since i've seemed to open a bit of a can of worms. I don't like nepotism is high profile professions like coaching and acting because it so accepted by society and I just don't get. if you work at a company that is not owned by your boss, but your boss brings in their kid to learn the trade over other kids, doesn't it seem to make people more upset in normal jobs than it does in lets say coaching. i maybe remembering incorrectly but I believe bobby knight was saving the indiana job or the tech job for his son at one point, and i'm like, how can he get away with that? that's all, its just a pet peeve. it doesn't mean i have some set rule that where I won't watch certain movies or root for certain teams, the texans oc for example doesn't prevent me from watching the texans. that's all no big deal
chillax. I didn't call anyone narrow-minded. I said, quote: I don't know why I re-typed it - you already quoted that section. Which is factual. Narrow-minded:
a fact is 2+2=4, yes we understand what the definition of narrow-minded is, its still an opinion when you call someone that, just as the word "good" has a definition, but if I say dogfood tastes good, that doesn't mean its fact
Tell me which sound better, the ones on the left or the ones on the right: "Karate HERE. Karate NEVER here." vs. "Everything... is Kung Fu" "All-valley Karate Championship" vs. "something something all China tournament" "Wax on. Wax Off / Sand the floor " vs. "Take off your jacket. Put it on. Take it off." Why? It's right there on the "related videos": [final fight]
