We have enough talent to make it. It all depends on Rudy getting his $hit together, people making free throws, and just oveall executing.

Several things from with that... where to start?

Rice has been giving us a lot offensively from the three spot ever since he's been healthy... he struggled shooting for one game, but what jump shooter doesn't? His production over the last week is way, way more than zero.

Mo Taylor's done an excellent job of sealing off low post position and taking his man down low, much better than he did two years ago.

The fact that we're missing a 20 ppg scorer, playing a rookie heavy minutes in his first month in the country, getting very little from Griffin, dealt with a 5 game suspension to Mo Taylor, had an unhealthy Glen Rice for the first two weeks, and yet we still have a winning record.

Utah's on their way up? Umm... have you look at who they've played? I can think of several teams that could have a winning streak against those powerhouses Denver, Chicago, and a Toronto without Vince Carter. Minnesota's not a lock to make it either.

If any of you want to make a bet, feel free to go ahead... I'm 99% sure the Rockets will make the playoffs, but I'm 100% sold on the Jazz not making it. It's just not happening, and if any of you want to bet, be my guest.

    Hehehe...you shouldn't have said that. :)

I'm willing to put my status as a BBS member on the line here. If the Rockets make the playoffs, I will stop posting on this BBS.

    Write it down!!

PS: Oh, and I said ALMOST zero production from our small forwards. :)

PSS: No, I'm not and will NEVER give up being a fan of the Rockets, just my BBS membership. I'll bleed rocket red (or soon to be red, when they get their new uniforms) until the day I die...

C'mon! I figured you would be the happiest to see me go...

I WANT the Rockets to prove me wrong. Hell, I might actually get some actual WORK done if I'm not posting here. :)

I am as sick as you are when the team is losing the games that supposed to be won. Incompetent coach, and a fearless and brainless leader. The team is in a stage of chaos. But there is a cure, PLAY YAO!!

These two contradict each other. You talk about how bad the players are, then say they have a bunch of supposed talent that is being wasted. If the point guard turns it over too much, that is a lack of talent -- the ability to play smart. If the power forwards are soft, that is a lack of talent -- the ability to be physical. Nothing from the small forward means a lack of talent from that position. Worst backup point in the league equals no talent there. Where is the waste of talent? Looks like it doesn't exist.

No, all of those problems are correctable. Steve has shown that he has the ability to take care of the ball and the ability to shoot well, but hasn't done so recently. If Mobley would pick his shots better, he won't be as streaky. Remember when he went on a tear last year? THAT is talent! Taylor and Griffin are both 6'10", yet they STILL get pushed around inside. Being soft inside has nothing to do with talent, it has to do with intensity. Moochie proved during his first year here that he has talent, yet seems to have regressed since he got that fat contract. The players ARE good, yet they aren't showing it on the court. You have to have talent just to get INTO the NBA, so there is no way we don't have talent.

Steve Jones(Portland analyist) said that Francis has incredible talent and if he ever get it upstairs the league better look out.

Will that ever Happen? Any suggestions? I propose surgery to remove that steel plate in his head

by process of elimination (top of my head here, no particular order). Teams in playoffs.

    Sure Things:
    Dallas
    Lakers
    Kings
    Spurs

    Maybes:
    Sonics
    Wolves
    Rockets
    Clippers
    Blazers
    Jazz
    Suns

    No Chances:
    Memphis
    Denver
    Golden State

So I have to choose four 'maybes': Rox, Wolves, Sonics, and ... Suns?!? Yes, because that 8th seed is so questionable. I think the Rockets should contend for the #5-#7 seed easily.

If the 7-6 Rockets aren't making the playoffs, then the 5-11 Lakers aren't making it either. Why do I always have to be the positive one?
