Your right, this isn't the time to trade KMart. I believe he will play well this year and his trade value will go up and we will be able to get more for him down the road.

And this is why we won't see a trade anytime soon.

The value of each of the pieces we have to offer is MOST likely to increase after games start being played - so I wouldn't expect to see a move until guys start logging playing time.

All signs point to Bynum signing with 76ers for the long term

In other Bynum news, DiLeo said the team and agent David Lee have yet to speak about a contract extension. Bynum, set to make $16.5 million this season, can become a free agent July 1. According to NBA rules, Bynum could sign a three-year deal for about $60 million Feb. 10, which is six months after the Sixers acquired him for Andre Iguodala in a four-team trade. Bynum, who was born in Plainsboro, would be eligible for more than $100 million over five years if he re-signs with the Sixers next summer. phillyburbs.com

“His agent said he wants to come to the surroundings and see the team, see the atmosphere,” DiLeo said. “He’s been very, very happy. His agent said he hasn’t seen him this happy in a long time. “I think everything will work out. I think we’ll like Andrew and Andrew will like it here. At the appropriate time, we’ll do the negotiations.” phillyburbs.com

Need a legit backup C. I don't think a trade will be done right away maybe before the season begins? I would like them to give Greg Oden a chance to compete in preseason though.

I would imagine Martin will be sold for cheap (since the market for role players is significantly lower than past years) and that Patterson will be traded at the deadline for a lotto protected first round pick. Wouldn't be surprised if Morey tries to trade Morris, but doesn't find any takers.

Only thing I see is trading someone like Brockman or Douglas/Machado for a backup C.

I don't see any trade coming before the trade deadline.
I think we are going to take bad contracts for more pics
Patterson could be traded. Martin too.

This is Martin's redemption year. I'm expecting production from him.

It does not make any difference. I would not expect any more playoff appearance while Morey is still in this position.

Why are you guys so worried about how unbalanced our roster is? What's the point? This season is all about getting a high lottery if not, a top pick for next season's draft.

The more our team/roster sucks, the higher the pick.

We all should train ourselves to start thinking long term here. We tend to forget that we are on a rebuilding phase right now.

Win or lose, i would still watch all of the Rockets' games if possible and excited to see our young team play. Would never feel bad about losing games since at the back of my mind i'm thinking.. Lose more and the higher that chance of getting a top pick.

The more I think of it, even if loosing is great to have a top pick, loosing is not fun... at least for me. Perhaps, I am not wired to loosing. I understand reality, we have an inexperience team and there is nothing we can do but just watch. Man, oh man, Oct. 1 is here and I am giddy on how Rockets will play up. I hope they win a lot since certainly loosing is not fun :(. The only consolation left is a high pick and hope for the next season ... but how many seasons is there to wait?

When is the last time any team made a non-trivial move (i.e. something other than picking up a non-guaranteed camp invite body) a few days before training camp?

    Before training camp starts?.... No.

Before pre-season ends and the season starts?.... Yes.

There will at least some kind of move even if its just waiving the 5 players they need to waive to get down to the necessary 15 man roster.

Still I would expect there to be a minor trade or two. Wouldn't expect Kevin Martin to get dealt until February.

Most likely to get dealt in a small deal-

    -Forbes, Brockman, Livingstone, Douglas-

-Other possibility would be J. Johnson & Marcus Morris, but I doubt it. They are more high-upside guys who couldn't get much back in return, and I think they would like to give Morris another try with regular rotation minutes.

Johnson will not bring back much value either and could see some play in RGV at the start of the season, and having a possible strong coming out party in the second half of the season with injuries, and minutes opening up at the 4/5 spot.

Just recently signed a two year contract with Unicaja Málaga, a Spanish league team.

Maybe there is another Dragic brother coming up that we dont know about yet.

    Boran Dragic????

Love Ricky Watters and this may be one of the best sports quotes of all time.

    Well played.
