Despite all the talk about who may drop to the Rockets, Morey always seems to go the other direction when he drafts. Brooks, Landry, Dorsey, Taylor, the 4 top picks of Morey's drafts, were all "reaches" in the minds of the media. Do you think the same will hold true this year? That our 14th pick end up being some guy that's in the 20s range on mock draft boards? Or do you think Morey's draft chart actually looks similar to how we think they should look.
Absolutely a WTF pick. I can see [vvv that below vvv] now. "A Small Forward [or Shooting Guard]?! We need a C!! Morey you suck!" or "How could you pass on [insert player x]?!?! "
i dont think its a wtf pick in the normal sense . . . cuz i dont think theres any way he will actually pick at 14. i'd say from everything i've been hearing/seeing/reading, they arent happy with the options at 14, and would like to either trade up or down. so inasmuch as a trade is a wtf pick, then definitely yes. i don't think it'll end up being anything like we've seen in any of the mocks.
A lot of people are going to b**** when he passes on Whiteside, who will probably be drafted in the 2nd round.
if Yao goes down again next season n we have to start a 6'6" center for another season cause Morey picked Gordon Hayward in this year's draft... then I will look back at this and think WTF??? but draft day is still a couple of hours away so we will see.
I'm surprised your inside info didn't say the Rockets will draft a human player. Black? That's kind of specific there. I thought I only make meh threads.
If Morey trades down to #20 and pick some unknown guy that every mock has going in the 2nd round, I think your presumption would turn out correct.
