In terms of another veteran point guard, that can shoot the three the Rockets could pick up and then let go of one of their current players not in the playing rotation like they did with adding Gerald Green and dropping Bobby Brown.

Ty Lawson (yeah I know it sounds crazy with all the DUI problems) Currently playing well in Chinese Basketball Association. He would run the offense while CP3 is on the bench and would not be in a situation where the ball is hardly in his hands. Can gets assists and score. Can get steals but perhaps a liability on defense.

CJ Watson - Decent 3pt shooter, might not get much assists but can run plays occasionally.

Deron Williams - Decent 3pt shooter and can run the offense and get assists.

Leandro Barbosa- Decent 3pt shooter familiar with playing with MDA. Might not get much assists put can make plays.

These guys will probably have some rusts and you would hope the Rockets don't do a quick discard like they did with Canaan who is now averaging over 9points and over 4 assists with Phoenix.

These guys would sit on the bench once Harden and CP3 are healthy and play during garbage time.

Can Morey work a deal and afford one of these guys and drop a Chinanu or Jackson.

Just a suggestion given that Harden is probably out a month and we don't want CP3 and Gordon logging in heavy minutes increasing the risk of injury.

Jamaal Franklin - long point (6'6) who is not liability on switches, prolific scorer, athletic and excels in fast break, sacrifices body, perimeter fiend on D with 7-0 wingspan.

Can play 3rd point or wing.

He sure looks good in China. But I don't consider him a point.

Two young guys out there that interest me are Kay Felder and Pierre Jackson. Felder is jobless at the moment. I think he'd be dynamite in our system. And I think Paul would really help his game. He should be in the league. I'm digging around for character/attitude issues. Because skill-wise he should be in the Association. He has better skills and athleticism than guys like Yogi Ferrell and the Suns midget point. He should be in the league.

Like Felder too but would be huge liability on switches and not prolific 3 pt shooter. He also would be posted up and destroyed. I like Franklin over Jackson. Rockets do not need a true PG, they need a player who can threaten with PnR, either pass to roller or score from 3/take it to the basket. Franklin is that kind of player.

We are talking about the 3rd point, not going to get many minutes unless injury. And Franklin can also play off ball or wing so more versatile, Felder is not.

I hope if we do get another guy it is a young dude we can develop. The Rox have turned into the Dallas Mavs when Kidd was there, they are one of the oldest teams in the league and are gonna fall apart in a few years. I dont really want Harden to waste the last couple years of his prime playing on a rebuilding team.

We need some youth esp if Capela walks in FA and we sign Jordan as a replacement.

Franklin is not a point. When you're down to the third point you need a guy that can run the offense and create. As was demonstrated last night in just a couple minutes, you take a true point off the floor and the offense collapses. Guys like Felder/Jackson much better in that role.

Warriors are leading the league in blocks, around 8.4 per game. Challenging the best mark in history.
Ball handlers under 6’4” will get swallowed up and run off the court by repeatedly being posted up.
Small guards trying to dribble all the way to the rim play right into their hands. Feeding their fast breaks.

Belinelli and Dedmon deal might get us closer to the Warriors. Especially if you are replacing guys
that are not getting rotational minutes. Hoping Rockets find someone younger than Belinelli Though.

Rockets need to get more athletic.

Still believe a 3rd or 4th point needs to be just as good off the ball and focused on D, especially if paired with either Harden or Paul. Special lenth and/or athleticism would also be nice (like Liggins/Franklin). If that 3rd/4th point is required to play significant minutes without or in lieu of Beard/CP3 then season is in jeopardy.

That said a scoring point like Brandon Jennings is better than Felder or Jackson. Significantly better.
