    what a great group :D

tho...I feel that in 10 years or so....Tmac will be there with them...and hopefully Yao as well.

    point...

Rudy was a SF and Clyde was a SG. You got em mixed up.

McGrady is definitely one of the most talented to players to ever play. He has great athleticism with a mix of just a natural feel for the game.

But what will continue to separate him from the all-time greats until he proves otherwise is he game after game intensity level. There are times when you don't even know T-Mac is on the floor and that never happened with Dream. Alot of people assume McGrady is going to take that step but we don't know just yet. Until then this question is premature.

I voted no. My reason for this is simple: Hakeem played his whole career here. (I refuse to count that injured season as a Raptor) Every record Hakeem set he began and finished as a Rocket. McGrady is an incredible player, but he'll always be behind Hakeem in that respect. Another thing is that even should McGrady lead a team that brings us twice as many titles as Hakeem did, he'll always have Yao Ming beside him. Hakeem had Drexler for our second title, but the first title was brought to us by a lone Hakeem, singly-handedly carrying the team to the promised land.

I don't think McGrady can ever be the greatest Rocket ever, but I sure hope he puts up a damned good argument. :D

good point pgabriel. Intensity. on both ends of the floor the whole game.....

did you ever see hakeem slacking? taking plays off? goodness sake it blows my mind that a man of dreams size can hustle the whole forty minutes of the game roaming a center and then going to other side jusst about EVERY POSSESSION and posting up?!?!? that's sick!!!! and limiting his fouls?

Mcgrady needs to bring it every night like hakeem

    now...hang on...

I dont see a lack of effort from Tmac...what I see is that sometimes he takes it upon himself to get his teammates involved.

He will gladly stop tryin to do it all himself in favor of passing and trying to creat for others...
I dont consider that as disappearing...I considerr that as tryin to spread the wealth so to speak.

If Rox would win several titles, it means that Yao would step up BIG.
He would share the spotlight with Tmac, and might be credited more for
the champions. I would say Hakeem had 1.7 "solo" star titles (another
.3 credited to co-star Glide). So Tmac + Yao need at least 4 titles to
overshadow Hakeem in Houston. At the national level, they need at least
3 titles to overtake Hakeem (their popularity would make up for the 4th
    title).

    Will Kobe pass Jordan?
    Will Tmac pass Hakeem?

No conclusion yet, but highly unlikely.

There is only one player currently in the league that is in Hakeem's class, and that is Shaq.

Duncan is close, but still isn't there yet imo.

Guys who could claw that their way into that class: KG, LeBron, but of course they have to step up and show some magic in the playoffs.

I don't think McGrady has what it takes mentally to be a player comparable to Hakeem, let alone surpass him. Doesn't mean he's not a great player though.

McGrady will pull even with Hakeem if he wins 3 championships in Houston. He will surpass Hakeem if he wins more championships here.

As soon as McGrady's Defense alters games and he wins 2 championships we can have that discussion, but not until then.

It's hard to imagine anybody overtaking Dream as the best Rocket ever. I mean McGrady is an amazing player and has the potential to do it, I suppose, but think about this...

Hakeem led the team in both scoring and rebounding for 11 straight years! He averaged over 24 pts. and over 12 boards a game over those 11 years.

Add that to the first 2 titles this city's ever seen, his history with Phi Slamma Jamma at U of H, and his legendary playoff performances... just don't see it happening.

No. What I'm trying to say is when it was TMac and 4 other guys in Orlando, they struggled to make the playoffs (and that's putting it lightly).

When it was Dream and 4 other guys, we celebrated on Richmond.

Excellent point. Dream was a lifelong Rocket. So since we aren't judging the best player...but the best "Rocket"...then McGrady is already behind the 8-ball. Nevermind the championship details.

Dream was never a Raptor. Rudy never coached the Lakers. Nothing to see here, move along.
