Who on earth will give the Rockets a starting PG for Battier?

Yea I know he hasn't exactly proven himself this season but we did get Scola for Spanoulis so anything is possible. He's really our only tradable asset. I don't know of anyone else we're remotely thinking of trading who can bring back a legitimate player at the one except Battier and maybe filler. (Head, Hayes)

Chicago would give up Hinrich for Battier or Artest I would bet. But Artest is an expiring and you just can't trust the guy, so he would be my choice to go.

There is NO WAY Artest is traded for anybody... The team is high on him

Kirk Hinrich would not be the PG that we would need. He would be a slight upgrade but his contract is not that great even though his salary gets lower each year.

There's not a lot of options right now for PG's in the NBA.

I wanted mo williams this summer, but most called him a ballhog, no defense playing pg. Cleveland got him for a Jumbo Jack, now look at them. I don't think the rox pg situation is bad, I just think the wrong guy is playing. Brooks as a starter can be 15-5 and shoot 45% fg. Trade rafer for my 1st sig and now the rox have the vet backup behind brooks. DD, Hinrich isn't worth summer 10 or artest. Trade rafer, get a backup behind brooks.

There are a couple of problems trading Shane.

-His trade value right now is lower due to his injury.

-Artest is playing on the last year of his contract. Who knows where he will be next year.

The other thing that most people in here aren't paying attention to is fact that there's going to be a lot of trades this season and in the offseason. Why? Not because of the summer of 2010 but because of the economy. Teams are going to be hesitant to take on long term contracts. The economy is really going to hurt the FA for 2009. It might even hurt 2010. That's why I don't see the Rockets picking up someone like Hinrich and they might not even try to resign Artest.

    But we will see.

I get that, my point was Rafer has to go himself, whether its this year next year, etc. Houston shouldn't trade another guy who's a consistent contributor to make up for Rafer's lack of abilities, it just puts the team right back where it was, but in a different way.

Ridnour would have been a decent grab, but that was before the bucks got rid of Mo williams.

the difference is that rondo is a good finisher around the basket and has a good floater, something that rafer does not have. rafer's teardrop/floater/push shot is ugly as sin, it makes blind kids want to cry.

is it too much to ask for morey to get felton?

I agree with moving Battier and Rafer, especially Rafer. The guy keeps on wanting to shoot when he could have assisted and got us a good lead. His layups stink, his fts stink, everything except ball movement.

If Chicago asked for Battier, we could give them Alston + Head...in exchange, we must receive Kirk + Nocioni / Sefolosha...just for the sake of getting rid of Alston...if not, hope Morey can go for Watson of OKC w/o giving up Shane..

Watson is shooting about as bad as Rafer this season...I'll pass.

    Earl Watson:
    FG% 0.365
    3pt% 0.273

Not happening for Battier. Hinrich makes $10m to Battier's $ 6.4m. You can't start stacking junk contracts on them because CHI already has a full roster.

Beyond that, CHI is well under the cap in the summer of 2010 but must deal with Qualifying Offer contracts for Tyrus Thomas, Sefalosa and Cedric Simmons while Rose and Noah are Team Options. Further, the Bulls are still wrangling with Ben Gordon's contract extension because his deal ends after this season.

Hinrich is not much better in transition than Alston. They're both slow.

T-Mac goes out of the line-up, Battier comes back in, and we go from squeaking a 98-96 win over Oklahoma City to blowing out New York by 20 and then hanging with the Lakers until 30 seconds to go.

You DO remember what happened the first time we played LA, when we had McGrady and Artest but no Battier right?

Battier is more important to this team right now than McGrady or Artest. Those guys are gravy but Battier is the mashed potatoes that holds the meal together.
