Will he drop 50 pts?

I think he scored 48 once. That was against Dallas when Dirk scored 52 on the same night, or something.

 

Scoring 50 is actually not too common.

 

No he never did with the Rockets. He came close.

Hope that didn't sound sarcastic, I was honestly surprised at how rare 50 point games are.

 

The thing is...I don't think Harden wanted to score, he just knew he HAD to score.

There are not many times I say "What a horrible shot there, jacking that up."

You can see why he shoots at such a high %, he RARELY jackes up any thing and only takes great shots.

seriously harden and lin were running 40 mins today - i hope that we don't have to run these brothers too long and give them some rest.

 

Needless speculation. Who can know anything about this matter? Bad idea for a thread. Try comparing Harden to everyone not named Harden in the top 5 SGs in the NBA. Do some baseline advanced metrics analysis, factoring in Harden's new role. Fold in a few pretty graphs and you have a worth while thread.

 

He scored 45 points on 19 shots....

 

If he has to score 50 in a game, then that doesn't necessarily bode well for the team. The first two games have been some of the most exciting Rockets basketball in years, but its only a matter of time before teams double, triple team, or find out ways to maneuver their defense to stop him.

Someone else, or multiple players are going to have to step up their games on a regular basis to take some pressure off of him.

Tonight, Lin and Morris did a great job. Lets hope either those two or someone else can really take a step forward this season to be that #2 go to player.

I personally dont want to have to see Morey dump more draft picks and young players for that #2 player. I would much rather see someone else take that step forward to stardom.
