If he can't get healthy enough to contribute in the next couple weeks, I dont think he has a very good shot of lasting throughout THIS year. I think some good solid vets will come available for nothing here in the coming weeks, and make that roster spot he's taking up in high demand.

Smith showed some promise last year, but he's always going to be a limited center at the defensive end, and if he can't stay healthy than you've got to let him go.

They should be able to keep him for very little money, so they may keep him as an end of bench type of player. But, our roster could change so much before next year, who knows what we will need or do.

When can we expect Greg Smith back THIS year? Given that Asik's sore ovaries are not improving, I'd love to have GS back.

He's regressed since last season. I see no need for him anymore and I'm positive Morey would have traded him if not for the Asik situation.

It all comes down to roster spots available and price. In some games last year Smith was used as a pimp for some early intimidation and he is a useful backup.

Don't forget he is young, good work ethics and he is cheap.

Greg could end up being D12s back up if we trade Asik. He only has a 1.4 qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent this summer, which I fully expect DM to use. He just turned 23 so he's still young and he is a powerful player. He just needs to get healthy.

Yes I think he will be here unless he receives a ridiculous offer as a restricted free agent.

He fouls too much that he can't stay on court for long. He connects pnr well with Lin though. I'd like to have him for not more than 1m a year.

There is absolutely nothing special about a mediocre big who appears to be injury-prone. Nothing. Nice guy and all but we need better, more dependable players.

He would probably be gone after the trade deadline.

He is still a very serviceable big man.
